Several RV parks provide motorhome accommodations near Benton, New Hampshire with varying hookup options. Cannon Mountain RV Park in Franconia Notch State Park offers electric hookups with 30 and 50-amp service year-round for larger vehicles, though drinking water is not available. Riverbrook RV & Camping Resort in Rumney features level pull-through rv pads with full hookups including water, electric, and sewer connections. "The sites were a good size for our pop up; we stayed at site 20; which was the biggest along the waterfront," according to one camper. River Meadow Campground in North Haverhill, approximately 15 miles from Benton, accommodates big rigs with 50-amp service, full hookups, and spacious sites for larger motorhomes.

Fall camping in the White Mountains region requires advance planning, as most RV parks near Benton operate seasonally from May through October, with limited year-round options. Newfound RV Park in Bridgewater provides dump station access and maintains a clean laundry facility, though sites can be somewhat tight for larger rigs. Cell service varies considerably throughout the mountainous terrain, with stronger signals typically available at parks closer to towns rather than those nestled in valleys. Some parks charge additional fees for pets, and propane fill service is limited at most locations. Navigation to several parks involves navigating mountain roads with occasional sharp turns and elevation changes that may challenge longer motorhomes, particularly those over 40 feet.

      Bearcamp River Campground

      Bearcamp River Campground

Bear camp River campground is a great place to camp for a weekend or be a seasonal. You can walk 6/10 of a mile to the covered bridge nearby and float right down to the beach at the campground or you can start on one side of the campground and float to the other via river for a good 30 minute float!! You get to Camp right on the Riverside. Owners (Mike and Tabby ) are great. Good place for the kids to run around and explore. The Camp store has sweatshirts and sweatpants , candy and snacks ,s’mores kits, and much much more.  They also  sell wood and ice on site. There is also hot showers for free, and bathrooms. Two thumbs up from this happy camper.

      Great state park

Most sites are secluded. There is a creepy old cemetery in walking distance. Nice showers on site !!

      Hancock Campground

      Fall Camping

This is our go to spot for late Fall and Winter camping. Just a few hard core cold weather lovers. Close to the slopes and snow shoe/snow mobile trails. Bathrooms are closed during this time. The porta potties are clean.

      Jigger Johnson Campground

      Location Location Location

This is our favorite campground on the Kanc. Lots of great hiking and scenic views. Close to Conway as well. Leaf peeping season will find you stuck in traffic. Recommend going afterwards. JJ closes for the season on October 12th.

      Town Hall Road Dispersed

      Dispersed Camping

The campsites are very nice, but they are mostly made for tents or at biggest a van. There were only two spots that we could fit our school bus. About 35ft. We also have starlink so that’s a necessity to have clear sky view. The only campsite with this was the last campsite before the end of the road closes. Which was taken but they were gone in the morning we just moved down. Now it’s very secluded but the drive is very long down so plan for a couple days. You can stay up to 14 days. Road down is a little bumpy but our school bus made it through!

      Twin Mountain Campground

      Twin Mountain Campground

We come to this campground every year to hike a few 4000+ mountains. Typically we come in the fall. There are several full hook up rv sites, some without sewer and several spots for RVs near the river. While the pizza shop (Celli's) is closed for renovations right now, we love their pizza and fries. The bathrooms are decent and there is hot water!

      Maple Haven Campground

      Great Campground

Quiet campground experience. Very cheerful staff member. Ice Cream shop is a bonus. We found a secluded spot without reservations. Monday evening. Some sites are tight for larger RVs but our Class B Camper Van fit fine.

    Guide to Benton

Camping options near Benton, New Hampshire offer diverse experiences in the White Mountain region at elevations ranging from 800 to 1,500 feet. The area experiences dramatic seasonal shifts with summer temperatures averaging 75-85°F during peak season and fall temperatures dropping to 35-55°F. Many campgrounds in this area operate from mid-May through mid-October, though a few offer limited year-round access.

    What to do

Riverside recreation: Country Bumpkins Campground features sites along the Pemigewasset River, creating natural opportunities for water activities. "The camping is small but it has the most beautiful location at the river," notes Dilmargareth R., who also mentioned the excellent Wi-Fi service.

Winter activities: Cannon Mountain RV Park provides camping options during snowy months. "Perfect for ski bums. Access to xcs, downhill, and snow machine trails," explains Corrie G., highlighting the unique winter recreation opportunities.

Family attractions: Campgrounds near the Lincoln area provide convenient access to local attractions. "Great little campground spots for both campers and tents right along the river, ample parking with great surrounding sights of New Hampshire as well as being next door to Clark's trading post, a New Hampshire Tradition," shares Frankie C. about Country Bumpkins.

    What campers like

Water access: Country Bumpkins Campground and Cabins receives high marks for its riverside location. "Great spacing on the sites. Everything you need to stay to yourself. Bath house was clean, the water pressure was the best I've ever experienced," reports Adam J.

Off-season value: Traveling outside peak times can provide better camping experiences. "On the far side of the parking lot at Echo Lake Beach/Cannon Mountain you'll find 7 RV, full-hookup sites. Reservations are recommended in the summer, but from Columbus Day to mid May you may have a chance with walk-up," explains Jean C. about Cannon Mountain RV Park.

Well-maintained grounds: Several rv campgrounds near Benton, New Hampshire prioritize cleanliness. "Very clean grounds and you can tell they take pride in their site," notes Adam J. about Country Bumpkins Campground.

    What you should know

Site specifics: Newfound RV Park offers mixed experiences depending on site selection. "Our compacted ground site was level and had a dedicated patch of grass with a small tree. We personally felt that the sites were all well-spaced, we've been in campgrounds much, much closer," explains Luis F.

Service variations: Cell connectivity varies widely throughout the region. "I work remotely, so having internet access is mandatory, we were able to use our AT&T hotspot with decent service. That worked well enough for my needs, so I didn't test the onsite WiFi," shares Luis F. about Newfound RV Park.

Reservation requirements: Several campgrounds have specific booking policies. "For more desirable sites, they require a longer stay. It's not ideal if you're camping with friends who are all driving up separately because parking for extra vehicles is limited," notes Jean C. about Country Bumpkins.

    Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Silver Lakes Park Campground offers family-friendly amenities. "This is a very clean, quiet, gated campground, with easy beach access for the kids. There is a playground, rentable kayaks and canoes, a basketball goal, frisbee golf, corn hole, horseshoes, yard darts etc," explains Kirsten J.

Family activities: Some campgrounds organize regular events for younger campers. "The kids were happy with the heated pool, horse rides, and other activities," reports Russ V. about Sugar Ridge RV Village.

Pet policies: Restrictions vary by location. "Pets are asked to stay home," notes Kirsten J. about Silver Lake Park Campground, which contrasts with many other area campgrounds that allow pets with certain restrictions.

    Tips from RVers

Full hookup availability: River Meadow Campground RV Park offers complete services for motorhomes. "Primarily for RVs. Combo of seasonal and transient. Excellent services. On ct river w kayaks and canoes," shares Terry C.

Parking challenges: Some rv parks around Benton have navigation considerations. "Although sites are near and often open to each other, the campground is quiet. They offer a discount if you stay 7 nights," explains Jean C. about Country Bumpkins.

Site layout maps: Campground maps aren't always accurate. "Site map is oriented upside down and would be helpful if corrected and updated. Our site looked angled on map so thinking it would be easier to approach from a certain direction to back in, drove in as I needed but found site was perpendicular to road," reports Russ V. about his experience at Sugar Ridge RV Village.
