Cottonwood cove

Sites are very close together with very few amenities or shade. View of the lake is blocked by the motel. Only plus is proximity to the water and full hookups

Clear Water Cove in the Desert

This campground is a great stop for boaters, anglers, and anyone who just wants to enjoy beautiful water with a desert backdrop. Cottonwood Cove is shared between a campground, a marina and a motel. There are many other coves to explore as you walk the shoreline if you’d like more privacy. As dogs are not allowed in the designated swimming area of the public beach you might want to utilize these if you have a furry tag along.

The campground was well maintained and everything functioned with the exception of the dump station but the ranger said it was being fixed. The beach had steel canopy structures and charcoal grills so you can spend your days grilling on the beach after you go fishing in the morning.

I hiked the ridge a couple hundred yards north of the campground to take this video. That shows the area.

Nice little cove

Nice because again the views are amazing and it has actual sand but it was too crowded. I wish people respected our land. Dumpsters were available but it was obvious that the people there that day were too lazy to walk a few ft ahead to throw their trash away in a dumpster that wasn’t full. Trash was overflowing and because it was windy that day it was flying into the bushes and around the parking lot. There should be a capacity cut off. Other than that it was a nice experience.

Clean and Clear Water

My husband and I have been coming to Lake Mojave for years. This is our first campground we ever stayed at together. Marina is nice and has everything you’ll need. Water is so clear you can see the fish underneath as you paddle out. We have many favorite beaches outside the marina to paddle to for those hot summer days.

Lakeside Desert Camping

What can I say. You’re in the desert. Don’t be looking for a shady campsite. The sites are fine with fire pit / bbq, picnic table. Nearby water access and clean bathrooms. Friendly camp host. Great marina with all the bells and whistles. Friendly staff at marina, market and cafe. Dogs not allowed waterside but a nice cove (6 Mile Cove) is just a short drive and dogs allowed there.
