      Polson Motorcoach and RV Resort

      The Nicest KOA We’ve seen

First, as we were driving up to the site, I saw these large Class A motorhomes with gazebos and lush green lawns and thought “I wish I knew about this RV park before booking,” only to find out it was the KOA! The sites are leveled, gravel pads on a hill, with a wooden deck, railings, 2 waste water hookups, and super clean facilities. The pool and hot tub were nice and clean. The staff, including the young man who escorted us to our site on check-in, were hospitable. Finally, there is a nice view of Flathead Lake. This is a destination KOA and only an hour from Glacier National Park.

      Granite Peak RV Resort

      Surrounded by mountains

If the smoke from summer wildfires were not so thick, you could see the beautiful long range, multi tiered mountains. The park is well maintained. I love the fact that they have a puttputt on the grounds. Very family friendly. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the sited are not level. All, but the premium sites (concrete pads) have a slope. Jack's were fully extended and some wheels off the ground. Pulling up on blocks was no problem. Not a ton of shade at sited. I had 5 bars of 5G AT&T. Wifi repeaters were throughout the park. Would definitely recommend.

      Granite Peak RV Resort

      Fine For a Stop-off Night

Definitely not a spot that caters to our normal priorities as it's more of a family hangout or long term place, as expected being an RV park. But it worked well as a stop-off spot for laundry, showers, electric recharge, and water fill before continuing on our way the next morning. We were worried it'd be loud being so close to the freeway, but surprisingly couldn't hear it at all.

Facilities: Laundry, showers that feel like home more than any other we've been to, mini-golf, playground, convenience store

Cell Service: As expected plenty of service being so close to Missoula

Starlink: All sites are open to the sky

Solar: All sites are open to the sky

      Placid Lake State Park Campground

      Beautiful Quiet Campground

This was a wonderful stopover on a road trip. Beautiful lake, rich forest area. Camping spots were nicely spread out, all paved. Ours, number 27 was a pull through. Easy access, a clean spacious vault toilet very close by. Restrooms with showers and flush toilets were a short distance away. THERE ARE NO SEWER HOOKUPS. However at Seeley Lake, about four miles away there is a dump station.

Excellent cell service for Verizon and T-Mobile.

Reserve ahead to be sure, 18$ plus 10$ internet fee. Or walk up first come first served for $18. And with electric hookups!

      Great campground.

      Swan Lake Campground

      Beautiful dry camping site

Swan Lake Campground in the Flathead in National in Forest near Ferndale/Bigfork Mt is a beautiful wooded campground with lots of wooded private campground spots. The host is onsite and we had no problem backing in a 40’ motorhome with a tow dolly and vehicle. I did not see any pull through spots. We didn’t have any cell service (Verizon) and cell service is spotty out towards Swan Lake. The lake is right across the street and you can rent paddleboard‘s and probably kayaks. The campground spots are level and paved with a picnic table and a fire pit. There are porta potty type bathrooms, bear food lockers and enclosed trash bins. $20 per night. Bears are active in this area. There’s a fun bar/restaurant about 10 minutes down the road towards Bigfork called the A Bar. I highly recommend it (they even carry my “Josh” Cabernet as the bar wine. You’ll find all kinds of local characters.

      Trixi’s Antler Saloon (Harvest Host)

Great location for 1 night stay through Harvest Hosts

This was a Harvest Host that we booked for 1 night. It is in the gravel parking lot of the saloon. They have two 50/30 amp electrical boxes and one Tesla charger. With HH it’s free (besides spending money at the saloon) or $25 to use the electric.

It’s a very large lot with plenty of room for our 33 foot fifth wheel. The staff was super pleasant and they served good bar food. There were local beers on tap along with ciders and liquor bar. There is a nice, new patio and great 360 review of the surrounding mountains.

At night the road traffic was alittle loud and there was no cell service, though the saloon has Wi-Fi.

Be sure to fill fresh water tanks before stopping there. Couldn’t find a fresh water hose. No dump available.

Great stopover with no other convenient campsites along this route.

      Whitefish-Kalispell North KOA

      Family friendly, not really “camping”

If you’re looking for family friendly, this is your spot. Lots of kids activities. Free breakfast. Washrooms, showers and laundry facility available. Scenically, it’s not very pretty. Sites are very close together with little privacy. Our spot was so small we couldn’t fit our tent, picnic table and fire pit in it. We had to park somewhere else, and move the picnic table our. If you prefer exploring nature and quiet, this isn’t the park for you.

Finley Point Unit — Flathead Lake State Park

A little taste of Lake Tahoe

We loved this place ! This is a peaceful, very well taken care of CG . It’s about 3 miles of the main road around Flathead lake , nestled in a beautiful lakeside neighborhood. The road to the CG is well paved & dotted with lovely lake homes , orchards & a few fresh produce stands if the season is right. Everyone’s yards were chocked FULL of deer!! They were everywhere! I never get sick of seeing deer & this was no exception. They were thick as thieves & a fun sight to see! Nothing like a ton of deer to welcome you on your travels . Once at the CG we were greeted by a friendly ranger , given some nifty area maps / info & kindly guided to our site. Our site was fantastic. Site 5 in an upper loop. It was up on an overlook & had a fantastic view of the lake thru a few beautiful pines. The site was paved, level & super easy to back into with a travel trailer. We sprung for an electric site. There’s a picnic table & fire ring too. There aren’t many trees between sites but they are well spaced & situated so that you aren’t staring into your neighbors site full on. Once we got settled in we took a stroll & followed a little path leading from the upper sites down to the water front sites & boat slips & beach. There’s a designated beach area where there are rv sites & tent sites available. While I wanted to be lakeside, these sites are a little bit busier & bustling due to the beach area & boaters. It’s to be expected at a CG with such a big boat launch area. It got a little busy during the day but it completely tolerable, & we cherish our peace & quiet ! If you just walk down a small strip of shoreline from the designated beach area, there is an area of small shore that’s quieter & less populated. The tent sites in this area looked very cool. Overall we found this CG to be lovely. It was actually pretty quiet despite some minor boat activity & beach noise. Somehow it all just blended into the background buzz. Everyone seemed to be respectful of the area & just wanted to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The grounds are well kept & the hosts are hard at work staying on top of things . And all the hosts were very nice . This park is also very pet friendly! There are cute little statins set up , fully stocked with poops bags & Flathead Lake personalized leaves . Such a thoughtful touch! We loved this place so much , we stayed two days , left for a night , then ended up coming back for another 2 days !

      Edgewater RV Resort & Motel

Flathead Harbor Resort RV Luxury Condos and Cabins / Edgewater RV Resort & Motel

Stayed in a cabin for a couple nights and had a great stay! You can hear a bit of road noise due to being in town and near the main road, but everything else was great: clean, showers, laundry facilities, near groceries/restaurants, pet-friendly, etc.
