Fishing enthusiasts will find direct access to Harry Truman Lake at Berry Bend, where boat launches sit adjacent to camping areas and multiple sites offer lake frontage. This Army Corps of Engineers campground operates year-round with full hookups accommodating RVs up to 75 feet, though campers should expect rough access roads leading to the property.
The large campground spreads across forested terrain with spacious sites that provide lake views from many locations. Carol R. notes it's "clean and well maintained" with accessible fishing directly from campsites. Reviewers consistently mention lower crowd levels compared to nearby state parks, creating a more relaxed atmosphere for families. Cell service drops to minimal levels throughout the property.
Amenities include flush toilets, showers, and pit facilities, plus a dump station and WiFi access. The campground serves as a staging point for various water activities, with boat-in access available alongside traditional drive-in camping. Multiple access options include walk-in and hike-in sites for those seeking different camping experiences.
Reservations help secure lakefront spots during peak seasons, as sites closest to the water fill quickly. Consider the rough road conditions when planning arrival, especially during wet weather when access becomes more challenging.
