    LeFleur's Bluff State Park Campground

    Small campground near city

Jackson MS LeFleur' Bluff SP Small state park with 30 sites w/e only on small lake. You are allowed to gather downed wood to use in fire pit. Gate code access. Nice playground. Disc golf course. Bathouse needs some attention. Only one of 3 stalls works in womens side. There are 2 shower stalls. One small and the larger handicap access one has stained floor.  There's a nature trail on site. Two boat ramps one gives access to Pearl River. Campground located next to Mississippi Museum of Natural History, a Children's Museum, Ag Museum and a golf course too. Great location to explore Jackson MS. Verizon 3 bars on 4g

    Atwood Water Park

    Peaceful retreat

My husband and I spent three nights here. It was a peaceful stay with a paved walking track and boat ramp. I would stay here again. They were working on improvements and could very well become a four star getaway with a little work. Trash, Bathrooms and bathhouse on-site.

    LeFleur's Bluff State Park Campground

    Cypress trees and cement pads

Remember to check your email for your gate access code the gentleman ahead of us did not and it took awhile to get in after a long day of driving. The site we had was right next to the lake which had an active fish population, two gators, and several kayaks. The bathhouse is up on stilts/pillings it was clean and made of logs. the electric service looked new and the water pressure was good. We sat outside even in the 98+ heat to see the activity on the lake. This campground is right off of the interstate but feels like you are in the country.

    Giving the pros and cons

I tent camped on site 2. The BBQ pit was not there on this site. The tent pad was rocky (not sand) so bring a sleeping bad or air mattress if you’re tent camping. Also bring a long extension cord.

Was nice being in front of the water and saw quite a bit of birds. The campground was quiet and relaxing despite being in the middle of the city. The bathrooms were ehhh. Not sure of the men’s, but the women’s only had one useable stall. Three stalls total - on without a door and one was out of order. I didn’t use the showers but definitely weren’t the greatest looking showers I’ve seen at a state park.

I saw a ton of deer, birds, and squirrels and the walking trails were nice and led up to the natural science museum.

The primitive area looked nice for tent camping but basically the same amount of privacy as the spots with electricity and water. Just depends what you’re wanting out of the camping trip.

    Groomed park in the wilderness.

Beautiful park. Could use just a little more space. Lots of wildlife and amenities. Cabins, laundry, pavilions, pool, propane and store.

    Timberlake Campground

    Excellent campground

We camped here Sept. 20-22 while we were in town to volunteer at the Sanderson Farms PGA golf tournament. I was very impressed with the amenities such as the laundry room, pool and bath house. The bath house was very clean and has private showers. The staff was very helpful. It is located right on the Ross Barnett Reservoir so it is a beautiful area. If you need anything, there is a Kroger grocery store right across the street from the campground. I was very satisfied and will stay there again for future tournaments.

    Hattiesburg / Okatoma River KOA

    Best KOA we've visited

This was the nicest campground we stayed at on our 4 week trip.  Our level site was on a lovely pond, with a friendly duck. This is the first architecturally designed KOA facility I've seen in two years of camping in our RV. It looked new. It was nicely done. The pool is a good size, the communal kitchen area has barstools on two sides. They had two TVs and an inside/outside fireplace. The bathrooms have granite countertops, and very nice tile. I wish we'd brought our dog because they had a professional quality bathing/grooming room with a professional dog dryer. There are walking trails that look lovely. The woman who checked us in couldn't have been nicer, as was everyone we encountered at the campground. I wish we'd been able to stay longer and we hope to come back soon.

    Timberlake Campground

This is a great place for a family looking to camp with hotel like feel l. It literally has everything. This campground wasn't quite my style but we were in the area and needed to spend the night. SA beautiful place none the less. RV sites, tent, monthly rentals. Disc golf course was a huge plus since I love disc golf. It would be great for a family looking to camp but almost have to comfort of hotel like settings!

We arrived late. Interaction with host was pleasant. Cooked dinner and went to bed. Played a game of disc golf in the morning which was great. But the 15$ camp charge we just weren't used to haha.
