    Movietown RV Park

Nice size TV park w cabins

Thanks dyrt for pointing us here. For 30$ a night u get a level gravel drive thru spot electric, sewer, water, and wifi, laundry facilities and bath house very very clean. Very quiet all thru the day and night. Friendly people all round. 5 min to walmart, tractor supply, and many restaurants and gas stations. Spacious lots so you arent right up on each other. Theres rental lots and cabins by the night, week and month. Theres saved spaces for those who just want a pulling over night. Theres big rigs here and small ones. Vintage and brand new. These are friendly people you can sit a chair or 2 outside and not have someone pounding on your door at 7am yelling about a toy or a chair left out all night. This is our face in canton so far. Lovely place with country atmosphere. Pet friendly and spacious. All u need is right here. Thank you ms. Kay and staff.

    Twiltley Branch

    Very nice, peaceful park

This is one of those awesome Corps of Engineer Parks that are scattered across the country. We settled in here for a couple of nights and really wished we had more time. Our site was a nice back-in with a great water view. Since we were there in the fall, the park was not even a quarter full so it was very quiet and peaceful. We were going to stay in the nearby town of Meridian but when we found this park is was a no-brainer. It was only three miles off HWY 19 but provided such an awesome place to camp. Campsites have crushed gravel pads and patios (some of which are double in size) and most have a nice amount of shade from the trees. Our site was very large with plenty of room. There are a few pull-thrus but they have a really weird curvature and trees that would make it hard for some large RVs to navigate. The roads in the campground are narrow but most are one-way so that doesn’t really matter and easy enough for us to navigable with our 45’ RV and tow car. All sites are level and have 20/30/50 amp electric that worked well and have a fire pit with bbq grate, separate bbq, lantern crook, and picnic table. Within the campground are pit toilets but about a half mile away at the entrance are showers and a laundry facility. At the end of each campsite are garbage cans so you don’t have to go far to dump your trash. Most all sites have great water views and access in case you want to launch a kayak or canoe.  We decided to pull forward into our site so the view of the lake was directly out our front windshield.  It was perfect!  Our Verizon wifi worked well and got a dozen over the air television channels. There are a couple of small covered picnic shelters with large grills, fire pits, and picnic tables if you want to have a gathering.

A short drive away is Collinsville Park with has a boat launch providing access to Okatibbee Lake. Many people in the campground would launch their boats there and then tie them up on the bank of the campground. There is a small fishing dock in the campground and plenty of bank fishing. The closest town is Collinsville where there is a grocery and some restaurants and you are 25-30 minutes from the larger town of Meridian.

Jeff Busby Campground, Milepost 193.1 — Natchez Trace Parkway

    FREE but....

This Natchez Trace Parkway free campground offers oddly placed paved parking areas, grills, tall fire rings, and picnic tables (most appeared in disrepair). Bathrooms were clean however older and not heated...and no hot water or soap. The parking is pull through but not clearly defined. Grills and tables were randomly placed. The park is rolling hills and drop offs at the curb side of some sites. No electric or water hook ups but there is a single outside faucet at the bathroom for potable water. Large shade trees made for minimal solar power. Honestly I had an eery unsure feeling during my 2 night stay. It appeared like mostly men were staying there and was just an odd placement of sites in general. I suppose it was the undefined site borders. I stayed in a pull through that was the nearest to the restroom. Had I not watched a YouTube video by 2tiredteachers when researching my trip, I would have been very confused on where the site were to even park at. But the highlight was Little Mountain!!

    LeFleur's Bluff State Park Campground

    Lovely

Found this sweet campground traveling cross country. Quiet, large level concrete pad, 30 & 50 amp, water, dump station, $35 after tax. Even tho it was in town,. It was so quiet you could hear the birds on the pond. Gravel road entrance is decent. Only drawback was the burn ban.

    Sunset Marina and RV Park

    Great Lakefront Campground

First, I'm not sure why there aren't 100 reviews here.  This campground is on the reservoir, super close to Jackson/Madison/Ridgeland, but still has all the camp amenities that make camping fun.

This campground has two sections - long term and camping.  Long term is more like an RV park, but it is nicely separated from the short-term campground which is truly water front.

This campground also has a nice Marina/Camp Store (and coming restaurant), as well as a nice pool and bathhouse for short-term campers.

Also - as this is a marina as well, there is a full-service marina, boat ramps, and parking slips if you need them!

Altogether, would definitely stay here if coming through Jackson, worth the trip.

    Roosevelt State Park Campground

This is what a State Park should look like!

Smooth paved roads, level concrete pads, picnic tables that will seat 8, fire ring and grill at each site.. This park has been completely remodeled and they did a fantastic job. Pull thru's and back in's available.

We stopped on our return trip home for one night, so we did not check out the bathhouse/showers.

COE Okatibbee Lake Twiltley Branch Campground

    Sweet Solitude

I stumbled upon this campground in search of waterfront sites, and it delivered! My husband and I were fortunate to stay here twice, and it is by far our favorite campground we have visited since we began our camping adventures last year. It is such a peaceful, quiet campground and was not crowded at all for our Thanksgiving and Christmas stays. The campground hosts were very friendly, and check in was a breeze. The hosts patrolled the campground often, and we felt very safe here. Although we didn’t utilize the bathhouse or laundry facilities, they were very clean and heated. The park felt very secluded, but Walmart was just a short drive away when we needed to pick up a few things we had forgotten. We also appreciated that we had cell phone service (AT&T) at all times in order to stay in touch with family, and we were able to use our hot spot for streaming Netflix in the evenings.

During our first stay during the Thanksgiving break, we camped at site 29 after seeing video reviews of this particular site, and we really enjoyed having views of the lake from three sides. The site was very spacious and level, and we appreciated the general layout and amenities (fire ring, movable picnic table, grill, and lantern post). Although this site had many great qualities, we were surprised by the constant boat/fishing traffic just across the lake. The fishermen’s voices really carried across the lake, so it just didn’t feel very private. Also, backing our 21’ travel trailer into the site took some maneuvering because of the trees at the driveway entrance.

After exploring the different sites in the campground during our first stay, we found that the sites on the other side of the Black Gum Loop were much better suited to our taste since they faced the dam instead of the boat launch. We stayed at site 47 during our second stay and really loved the view and solitude. This was also a spacious site with great views of the lake. We will definitely visit Twiltley again!
