Such a nostalgic old campground feel, but with tons of fun amenities!
Nice big pull thrus all along the camping loop. Great camping with mostly one-nighterz. Stayed two days in early December and had no issues.
The campground is a large loop with about 30 sites. Only one bathroom open but everything was clean and garbage service was excellent.
Walked the loop (about 0.6 miles) several times a day. Our site was about 80 yards from the toilet. Lots of trails through the middle of the loop as a shortcut to the toilet.
Stayed one night, very quiet and a few nice and fun things to do. Had a fire ring to cook for the night or just to enjoy a fire. 2 nice picnic tables and a good place for a tent. Can drive your car right to sight. Tent and camper sights.
We were planning to stay a second night in a better location on the resevoir… so we moved to avoid the sound, fury and allergens of a half dozen lawn tractor mowers circling us. The management notified us that there would be a $20. Fee for changing spaces plus the fees for an additional night and were asked to return to our original site until check in time if we didn’t want to pay the additional 20 bucks.
We moved to the bathhouse, showered, hung out by the pool until check out time and departed for another campground. Sometimes management treats guests according to the rules of an HOA, versus the hospitality industry. It was kind of sad.
We did enjoy the site, the pool and the water views. We didn’t enjoy the sound of traffic and grounds maintenance early in the morning. We might return one day, but much wiser, indeed.
We enjoyed our night at LeFleurs Bluff. We were surrounded by giant RVs but it proved to be a very quiet respite in the middle of the city. Keep your check in code handy as it is necessary info when arriving or departing via the security gate. We hope to return one day and stay longer!
The previous night we tried to reserve a spot here online around 3 or 4pm. As this wasn’t possible on we found another campground in Ridgeland with a more flexible reservation system and a swimming pool! It was more like a gold course on the river than a camp ground but we were pleased to have options.
There are 5 RV sites at this location. They are easy to reserve on Love's website. We stayed overnight on our way back to Texas. Once we arrived, we checked in on the link, and poof, the power came on.
Well-lit and safe. I recommend utilizing these sites when you are on a long travel timeline.
Very cute and quaint campground but I imagine if it’s raining a lot it would be more difficult to access. Close to highway and very comfortable night’s sleep. Near my campsite there were 3 separate shower/restrooms. Great price for tent site.
Most are uphill and very close together but good overnight park
I recently stayed at Movietown RV Park and had an exceptional experience! The amenities were top-notch, and the park was clean and well-maintained. For anyone planning a visit, I highly recommend you to must go. It was incredibly handy during my stay, providing a variety of entertainment options to enjoy during downtime. This is a great RV park. We stayed here on our way to and from our destination.
Quiet area outside of Jackson Mississippi. Just 3 miles off the highway. Lots of trees, woods, large pond, fire pits, clean bathrooms , pool, Little camp store. Booked through Harvest Host.
All campsites had a picnic table, fire ring and a grill which were typical of these free NPS campsites. The bathroom facilities were clean with running non-potable water. All of the fire rings and grills were rusty and some of the wooden picnic tables were falling apart but we were one of a few campers this early in the season, so hopefully they'll be attended to before the summer rush. We picked a pull-thru site and lit a fire in the ring and used our own camp chairs and table for a lovely star filled night.
We stayed here over Easter and had a great time. Trail was flooded out less than .5 miles in, which I heard can be typical of this time of year bc of reservoir they drain near there. Plenty of kayak access to all the lakes around. Gnats were so bad we had to stay in the tent to stay sane in the afternoon and most of the evening. They was one other group that tent camped for one night but otherwise everyone had RVs. If you go to tent camp call ahead before booking because some sites have the fire ring on the tent pad. I remember site 10 definitely does. It was packed but pretty much quiet the whole time except a lot of traffic. At night you hear the highway sometimes. Bathrooms are okay, washer and dryer work great.
Don't think anyone has cleaned the pit toilet or the bear proof garbage cans for awhile only two camp sites that I can make out and only one with a camp site number (80 B) lots of flies not sure what they charge to stay here I left $10 definitely over paid but maybe they can pump out the pit toilet
Big site no fire ring no other camp sites that I have seen
Only site I see on FSR 526 Big site you could pull through with a bigger camper no fire ring but you can see where they have had a fire
Great place to stop at! Waking up with the fog coming off the water was beautiful! The hostess suggested a great place to enjoy some local food as well! We will be stopping again!
Had a night of rain and lightning when we stayed there !! Camped on the hill passed the boat launch nice to hear the flowing water when the thunder died down . I would like to stay again on a dry night .. packed up early and left between showers the next morning
Our site had a fire ring and grill, it was very relaxing and peaceful but not a whole bunch to do there especially for the kids. They had a designated swimming area which was alright to go do. We rode our bikes around but that got pretty boring fast bc it’s not that big of a campground. Besides that we personally enjoyed it and wouldn’t mind going back again.
Didn't stay. The website says it is $60/night.
Not a bad place to get away in MISSISSIPPI. Campground host was super nice. Gave us a heads up that we had a tornado warning! Just what we needed during our two day stay.
Campground is definitely not the most maintained when I compared the other national forests I have been through. Everything feels most fun down. Bathrooms are falling apart but there is a shower with hot water if you dare.
It's a cheap place to stop. $13 with an Access pass for electric, water, dump station. Lake view. There is a trail around the lake which is a little under two miles around.
Very spotty cellphone reception.
It is a unique place just north of a dam ( low head dam ) that has another park and boat ramp for fishermen and a very friendly family owned bait store between the parks Tripp family store ! Non ethanol gas 6am to 6 pm grill is open ,
Nice primitive grounds with pull-through and back-in options. Gave a 1 in service because it is a first come first serve. It is a terrific spot to stop and sleep. We camped at Natchez Trace Parkway- Rocky Springs in a Fifth Wheel. Didnt get a chance to take photos, we arrived at dark and left early morning.
Melanie and the team at Wendy Oaks are amazing! We arrived after dark and they had a lantern waiting on the electrical box for us to use while setting up! The bathrooms are temperature controlled, clean, and well maintained! We look forward to returning again in the future!
We’ll kept park close to downtown Jackson. WiFi was good. Transient sites were level concrete pads. Bathhouse was dated but clean. Very Friendly staff. Recommend Country Meat Market and Tom’s Fried Pies just down the road
Found this sweet campground traveling cross country. Quiet, large level concrete pad, 30 & 50 amp, water, dump station, $35 after tax. Even tho it was in town,. It was so quiet you could hear the birds on the pond. Gravel road entrance is decent. Only drawback was the burn ban.
We will definitely come back to this campground. When you come to the campground , nightly rentals are first come first serve. You drive back and pick your available spot and go back to the office to pay. We were lucky to get a beautiful water spot this time. It’s clean and spots are a concrete pad. Right outside the campground is a Kroger across the street. It’s convenient to lots of things but tucked away as a quiet getaway.
