Superior National Forest's North Bally Creek Pond Campsite sits just a quarter mile from a parking area along the Superior Hiking Trail, making it one of the more accessible backcountry sites in the forest. The layout is tiered: a lower level with trees suited to hammocks and a well-placed pine for bear hangs, then a short path up to one larger and up to two smaller tent pads with a fire ring and bench. Water comes from a nearby stream. Note that pets are not permitted. Hikers passing on the trail can see into the site on busy weekends, so expect occasional foot traffic. Campers planning a route through the area can find campgrounds around Superior National Forest to pair with a multi-night itinerary, or check out South Bally Creek Pond Camp just down the trail.
