Popular But Cozy

This campground seemed to have everyone knowing each other by the time you were done. The hosts were great. You can have a big site with lots of water front access on the outside or you can have a smaller site and share with the inside loop. It is a small campground but one that is ideal in…

Small but Great Lake access

Small campground with Great Lake access! We stumbled up on this one and really ike it. It has two different sections, and both offer great water access sites. Campround host as everything...and I mean everything to help you out if you forgot something. Super friendly and kind of like a fun little…

Primitive, but very busy

We were bouncing around the area and found this one. They had a lot of people occupied so it is a busy place. The north campground is smaller but has very private sites with loads of options. Mostly for smaller res to tents. It is close to the road so you do hear the highway noise. Things were…

Great location for water activities

This site has better private camp sites compared to the East. IT also have more sites located with water access. Very deep sites so you get lots of privacy as well. Very wooded and secluded so you have to watch out for the ticks as we pulled several off of our dog. Mostly tent and small pop ups at…

Primative but it works

First, this is a great location. Out of the way and primitive and close to the lakes for good fishing. Not a lot of flash at this campground. Good size for sites for small pop us and tents. Pretty cramped for a big RV. This is a primitive site so no electricity or water hook ups, but we did find it…

Good for paddlers and for fishing

This campground is off the beaten path, and very quiet and peaceful. You have a choice of lakeside campsites, or sites tucked into the woods away from the lake. The lakeside campsites are your best bet, if you can get them--beautiful view over lake Winnie, cool breezes, and HUGE campsites that can…

Beautiful place

Very nice Forest Service campground.  Nicely wooded and private.  We will try to visit again and get a lakeside site.

The Biggest Bog

Anxious to get camping after a Covid winter, we headed to Big Bog for a 3 day RV trip. The campground was nearly empty, which is always a bonus.

The campground has numerous sites next to the Tamarack River. Many have small docks where you can park your own or a rented boat. Our site was…

Camp right on the lake

This is your typical Forest Service dry campground.  It is reservable in the summer but when we visited in the fall, it was first come, first serve.  And it was empty.  We got a site right at the swimming beach.  The beach however is quite small and suitable for children.  There isn't any hiking…
