Municipal parks don't always make for memorable camping, but Memorial Park in Granite Falls delivers more than its city-managed status might suggest. Set within the larger county-regional park along the Minnesota River, the campground sits in forested terrain close enough to town to resupply easily, yet reviewers note the river proximity and tree cover make the surroundings feel removed from the surrounding streets. Sites 1 through 7 are first-come, first-served, while sites 8 through 13 require reservations, which can be made online.
Sites feature hard-surface parking pads with grass surrounds and gravel picnic table areas. Electric hookups include 30 and 50 amp service, and water hookups are available at most sites. RVs up to 34 feet can be accommodated, with one pull-through on the property. Mature trees provide shade across most of the campground, though the canopy also limits satellite signal for most sites. AT&T cell coverage gets consistent marks. Rates run $20 to $22 per night for RVs. "Clean facility, large pads, electric and water," notes Connie J., summarizing what most reviewers emphasize.
The bathrooms were recently remodeled and draw repeated praise for cleanliness, though at least one reviewer found them in poor condition, so conditions can vary. A pavilion and playground with a small zipline sit within the park. The two sites around the far corner of the loop are noted for added privacy. Showers are available, though water temperature has been described as inconsistent. Campfires are allowed, and pets are welcome.

Reservation Info
The City of Granite Falls does not take reservations for campsites, but, rather, operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Furthermore, the campground operates on the honor system-- meaning we do not actively collect fees. Instead, the campground has a fee collection post where it is the camper's responsibility to fill out an envelope, include the appropriate fee amount, and keep the corresponding tag. Though we do not actively collect fees, City employees regularly check in on the campground. If you have trouble with the fee system, please stop by City Hall (641 Prentice Street) during regular hours to inquire.
