This park is great and it’s 100% open for 2021...I was just there, it’s not closed at all, just a very small part of the park is for repairs and upgrade 6/17/21

Location, Location, Location

This is a great campground at a great location. There are not many campgrounds right on the great lakes that are not run by the state of Michigan. There are quite a few sites that are right on the water. Some of them are very narrow as they try to pack in as many as possible by the water. I can…

Not busy

This place rarely gets busy. Nice sites with great views of Avery lake. Clean privy, cold water. Quiet. Alot of state forest roads to explore around here

Quick visit

Made a quick overnight stop while road tripping with beautiful wife. Very nice lakeside campsites. Little on the pricey side for me. Edging a little bit towards the style of the Michigan state parks, which isn't my scene. None the less, sites were nice and facilities were clean.

Beautiful campground on Lake Huron

This campground is a must do. Electric site campground with a short walk to the beach on Lake Huron. One of few campgrounds you can view both sunrise over Lake Huron and sunset from the beach. Showers and flush toilets. Great biking and hiking trails. Really nice day use area with pavilion. Mini…

It's convenient

There's nothing wrong with the campground, but there's nothing particularly special about it, either.  It's a decent basic campground close to Mackinaw City, so a good alternative for folks that don't want to stay in a hotel/motel, while visiting.  There is a shuttle to the ferries, which is…

Clean, fun and GORGEOUS!

Make a reservation well in advance. Bathroom facilities were beautifully clean, fun yard games to borrow, kayaks to rent. Decent sized sites- some directly on the lake with access and beach. Use the map to pick the best one! Picnic table and fire pit. Easy to find. Highly rec. Wood and ice…

Amazing camping spot

This park has become our go-to place. The location is very secluded, but also close to Mackinaw if you are in the mood to go out for dinner. There are also a ton of places to visit within about an hour’s drive.

The campground itself is clean and generally low key. Virtually no partiers running…

Our “Traditional” Spot

My family and I have been camping here since I was 4 (I’m....much older than that now!). I have been taking my 3 sons here since my oldest was 5 (he’s 16 now). This is “our” place for R&R! Miles and miles of trails for day hikes, soft sandy beaches and cool water in the Straights, kayak-able,…
