Quiet and Easy Access
Stayed in site 4. Very quiet and isolated from other camp spots. Fire ring and picnic table. Pit toilets and fresh water via hand pump. Just two miles off I-75 at Wolverine.
Nice place to bed down for the night
Nice, quiet campground just off of I-75. Sites all seemed private and comfortable. I was just passing through, so didn’t see much of the area. This would be a nice alternative to the busier campgrounds near Indian River, Burt Late, etc.

This was a really awesome campground we found kind of last minute when things didn’t work out at the other place we were trying to camp, and we were not upset about it at all. We actually we’re happy our plans fell through, because the site was better than the one we were trying to get at another…

Directions
Located 2 miles north of Wolverine. From I-75 take Wolverine Exit (exit 301).Take a left on Afton Rd. (heading west) for about 1 mile. Turn right (north) onto S. Straights Hwy (Old 27). Drive 1.6 miles north on S. Straights Hwy to Haakwood State Forest Campground, located on the right, east side of road.
