ScoutGreat spot, easy to get to. Could only find two pull off spots which are both relatively small, and only one has a fire pit in good condition so you’d need to build back up the other a bit. Very convenient spot that met all my needs
GuideThis campground is located directly on Lake Superior and operated by the city of Munising. It has 100 RV sites and 22 tent sites. About 1/4 of the RV sites provide water, sewer, and 50/30/20 electrical hookups. The rest of the RV sites provide shared water spigots (with both line pressure and with pressure reducers) and shared 30/20 electrical pedestals. Depending on the site, the water or electrical hookups may require an extension cord or another hose length to reach your RV. The campground is quite open, only the tent sites have any privacy. Do to lack of obstructions, I saw several starlink antennas on rigs..... The campground offers decent wifi and two very nice bath houses with flush toilets and showers. It also offers a dump station on site with tank flush and potable water fill stations. A beautiful sandy beach fronts the campground. One negative is that Michigan Hwy 28 runs past the campground and it has plenty of traffic at all hours.
We visited with plans to take a Pictured Rocks boat tour, but 3 days of gale force winds scrubbed those plans. The boat tours were canceled.
ScoutPerfect spot to pull off and camp for the night or weekend! Big pull in area where we stayed for the night, there was one other person but we stopped once we noticed the fresh tracks and didn’t go any further back. Perfect overnight spot.
GuideNice well kept campground. Plenty of sites along the water. Seems a bit more unknown compared to other sites in the area as I was struggling to find somewhere with open spots until I came here. Also, despite being a small lake it was great for fishing, I caught plenty of northerns and my personal best smallmouth.
RangerThere were no open sites when we got here on a Thursday afternoon so we had to stay in an overgrown site. It was very shaded from the trees so it was not great for our solar capabilities. Loved that there was a cute trail nearby though. No cell service for us with Verizon, only way to get it was to go 10 miles by the main turn in road. There’s no big towns nearby so you had to travel quite a ways for groceries etc. Campsites a bit close to one another for my taste but everyone was respectful so it was peaceful and lovely otherwise! Mosquitos were around definitely.
TravelerThe campsites are very close together so not for anyone looking for solitude. Other campers are very friendly. It is right on Lake Michigamma? Nice beach for swimming. Boat launch with dock for fishing. Big playground
ScoutThis Campground offers peaceful beauty. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The office ladies will help with your needs like firewood, waterfall locations, hiking trails, recommending great sites (especially if you want to watch the sunrise in the mornings), there is a Campground host and emergency number for anything after hours that may happen (noisey neighbors for example) but those are rare!
Bathrooms are CLEAN, showers (do NOT have the coin machine anymore, so no need for quarters), grounds and campsites & fire rings are clean and kept up on.
Beach is clean and the staff keep dogs off the beach so there's no poop or dog pee in areas where families can swim. BUT there is a designated area for dogs to go swimming! The staff gives treats to dogs in the park (with the owners permission of course)! A pier to go fishing off of, boat launch, kayaking launch areas!
They have several rustic sites, electric &water sites, electric only, and full hook up sites. There are handicap accessibility to the beach and 2 of their shower/ bathroom buildings.

Remember as any Campground they do get their busy times but they also have slower times, just ask the ladies in the office and they will tell you the time of seasons that would give you a more quiet relaxing experience if that's what your looking for & don't forget to catch those sunrises!
Trust me tho, this is a unforgettable beautiful place to camp AND with some history!
Make sure to watch Anatomy Of A Murder and don't be afraid to ask the staff and locals about it!

"Just off M-28, down the right side road a bit you will see campfire remnants and a spot where people tend to park on the left.
