Sept 2021 not too crowded. Mostly small sites, with some nices ones. We were in 154 upper level on the end in a 31 ft 5th wheel. Wouldn't go bigger on this site. Very nice site. Sites in the lower section are on the water with a view of the bridge. Close to St Ingnas and the ferries. Stopped…
Stayed here for 3 days in a travel trailer. Good sized sites, fairly level, friendly staff. Clean facilities and ample amenities. Only con was expensive to use clothes washing machines.
Stayed at a super saver site and it was very small, with no fire ring... just a pan. It was a let down. But, the store and bathrooms are great. The location is stellar, with views of the Bridge. There is a bike path across the street that leads into town.
Pros: Location! 25 minutes from Mackinaw City, 10 Minutes from Pellston for supplies. Right on Burt Lake. Clean pit toilets. Generally not too crowded.
Cons: Small sites, especially for a Statr Forrest Campground. Can be pretty loud.
Wonderful staff! Beautiful views! We will be back!
The owners were constantly driving around and correcting people. Rules are okay but they were over the top. They would even stop and just stare at our site while we sat outside.. it was very odd. Also not kept up at all. The playground was old and my 30 lb dog slipped out from under the “dog park”…
Nice little metro park for tent camping. Most sites are dispersed. You can pull your car up to the site for unpacking.
Modern bathrooms and a snack shop on site.
Park offers kayak, canoe, and row boat rentals. Also paddle boards.
Disc golf and regular golf available.
Nice sandy beaches.

Campsites are well maintained and clean. Nice large campfire raised rings. Ranger station has helpful staff.
Trails to beach are easy with endless beautiful water and sand.
Our site was small and close to our neighbors. We were close to the restrooms which were very clean and showers available. Some nice campsites by water with view of Macinack bridge. We biked to ferry from campsite and had a wonderful day on the island.

This is a large campground that feels smaller because of the variety of lanes and sites that are fitting for tents all the way up to big rigs wanting full hookup. Camping along side Lake Huron with spectacular views of Mackinac Island, Mackinaw Bridge, sailboats and huge freightors.
My family and I stayed here in August 2020. We stayed in the pines loop of the campground and really like the shaded sites. The bathrooms were clean, and the campground was quiet overall. We will be back!
Vibe: Feels smaller than it is. Pretty standard state park. Older crowd.
Facilities: On the outdated side.
General spots: Muddy. Big storm had come through the night before and most of the spots had sizeable mud pits.
Privacy: Moderate amount.

I liked the camp setting. Unfortunately for us, we didn't get the chance to explore much. A big storm blew in right after we scouted out the camp. Severe weather was forecasted for the rest of the night, so we opted not to stay in a tent during the storms.
Would definitely come back our next…

Nice campground. The hosts were very nice. Clean pool. Recommend the on site ATVrental lots of trails to ride
This was by far the nicest and most spacious KOA I've ever stayed at. There were a ton of trees and nicely wooded spots. We had site #16 right near the front, which meant we had some traffic noise and kids running to the adjacent playground, but the spacious lot size made up for it (and having 3…
