Managed by the MIDNR Forest Resources Division within Pigeon River Country State Forest Area, Round Lake State Forest Campground runs a small loop of roughly 10 sites, about half of which sit along the lake. Sites are spaced well apart, with a cement pad and standard picnic table and fire ring at each. A path near site 10 leads to a small beach for swimming, though pets are not permitted at the beach itself. Reservations are available, and the campground operates April through October. RVs are limited to 20 feet. Campers arriving in late May should plan for heavy bug pressure. The campground works well as an overnight stop for those routing toward Lake Huron or the Au Sable River, and it suits families and anyone wanting lake access without a large, crowded facility.
