Best Tent Camping near North Chelmsford, MA

So I had gotten a tent site for 4 days and Roxanne the old bag in the office does nothing but talk about everyone & everytime you put in for a reservation she says I can’t give you a tent site 🤔🤔 but yet I’ve been nothing polite and

Cape Ann Campground is located close to Gloucester and Rockport. The campground is clean and quiet with beautiful tent sites. The RV sites are not as secluded as the tent sites. Clean Bathrooms and pay showers (5 cents). The owners are very helpful. Call and they will help you find a spot if you have questions.

So my fiance and I we had called and asked if they had tent sites they put us at 9T ( which to any other campground T with the number means tent) but the owner comes up this morning being a complete ass saying that it wasn’t a tent site & that we requested to move sites and now all of a sudden it was a problem so paid 60?which was supposed to be paid for two nights & basically told that we had to pack up and leave with no refund & a very sour taste in my mouth from that campground. I will never return

We had a great time camping and going to the beach. The camp ground is full of beautiful boulders and fire pits. We were tent camping and were very happy with our site.

Beautiful campground in a nice central location nearby several nice towns in Central Massachusetts. The hiking is some of the best I have seen from a campground in the area, with a huge system of trails which are all very well marked. These trails vary greatly in terms of difficulty, a few of the trails are doable in less than 15 minutes if you maintain a quick pace. The harder trails, including the one going up to Carpenter's Rocks are more strenuous and feature a good amount of elevation gain, rocky terrain, and very worthwhile views for the trouble.

Not usually too busy on the trails, though expect hordes of people at the parking lot especially during the warmer months. Firewood is easily available, if a bit pricey, and the tent sites are generously sized with plenty of room for multiple shelters. Have spotted beavers deep into some of the water-adjacent trails, as well as many species of birds.

Definitely give this one a try if you're in the area. Rental fees for the tent sites are very reasonable, and it's worthwhile to come for the trails and views alone.

We arrived just before check in closed for the night and we were escorted to our site which was small but it was a tent site.

Location works well. Very narrow road coming in after 128. More for smaller RVs and tent camping. Picnic tables could be replaced. Grass was cut while we stayed which is a good thing as it was quite long. We might stay again.

They charge 50 dollars for a tent site with no electric, the spots are right next to eachother and touch the bath house. There’s more rules than a state park.its easy to get in and out of.

Amazing campground. Staff are amazing, super nice people. There is only maybe 8 tent sites? They have 2 cabins to rent. And the rest is rvs. The bathrooms are the cleanest campground bathrooms I've ever been to. Everyone is so nice and welcoming.

This is a great place for military members. Full hook ups, houses to rent, tent sites, and lots to do. Once the season closes very quiet, lots of stores in the area close. The base it self is very clean and quiet with beach access during low tide.

Quick review on Hidden Valley RV Park/Campground —

Owner, I believe her name was Donna, was wonderful, welcoming & very accomodating! Pros: friendly staff, wknd campground activities to do if you’re looking for some socializing/mingling, a little pond for fishing, a pool, a bigger pond that had a little beach, quiet at quiet time (minus saturday night karaoke running a little late but it wasn’t like annoyingly loud), large campground, if you golf there’s a golf course, they have a restaurant & a nice little camp store, bathrooms were decent & free hot showers. Little swimming beach located on the grounds.

Cons: quite a bit of trash throughout the campground on the sides of sites, picnic tables were ready to fall apart, many of the tent sites had little to no separation without trees in between the sites (note-we asked for the most secluded tent site & was given a site that had a little separation), only one main bathhouse with porta potties spread out throughout campground.

Overall, a nice little spot to go camping.

Great spot run by a gentleman named Keith, he’s been running it for years. Such a nice guy. Spot has great sites. I use tent sites, usually by the river. Spots are clean & roomy. Bathrooms are alway clean & showers hot. There are trails you can hike and explore. Just a really fun place to stay.

We enjoyed our tent site with a wooden lean-to. Overall very private and peaceful, however the only drawback is that people took frequent casual walks pass the area all day long. There's really no way around that.

We did not get a chance to enjoy the amenities, but they all looked nice and well thought out.

We will return.
