Description

Spacious Skies French Pond Campground is a family-friendly campground located in beautiful southern New Hampshire, 5 miles north of Pat’s Peak.

We offer both wooded and open sites that can accommodate any size trailer. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, water, 20/30 or 50-amp electrical service, and sewer. Groups and tent campers are welcome.

Our campground is nestled deep in the forest, right on French Pond. Beach access offers swimming, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boating, and fishing. We also have a salt-water pool for additional cooling off, and we can heat it too. A pavilion is available for activities, dancing, and more. Our rec hall is a callback to pure campground nostalgia—come in for the classic camp atmosphere, complete with vintage player piano. ATVs are welcome for rides on local trails.

We are proud to announce our partnership with Black Folks Camp Too and are now the first “unity blaze certified” collection of private campgrounds!

Being Unity Blaze Certified confirms that all 15 of our campgrounds and our team are committed to making sure all campers know “You are Invited and Welcomed” — the Unity Blaze motto. While Spacious Skies has always firmly held this belief, we wanted to go one step further in partnering with BFCT to make sure all campground staff completed the Unity Blaze training program.

Plenty of room

I only stayed a few nights, but enjoyed it thoroughly. I had a view of the beautiful pond, which is really a lake, and wished I had more time to rent a kayak.  The bathrooms were clean and easy to access, since I do not have sewer in my small pop-up. I spent most of my time exploring the area since there are a lot of things to do very close to this campground.

Underwhelming

This camp ground is not anything like it was advertised, however the staff are great . Unfortunately in the 4 months of staying heretic laundry has never been finished so no laundry only one bathroom with just 2 shower stalls for over 100 sites also there have been numerous problems with the sewer issues as well as a water issue that took day to fix with almost 0 info coming from the office . sites are very close together and tight to get into. otherwise it's quite and people keep to them selves

Avoid at all costs!!!

My family stayed here almost 3 months. Initially told our site wouldn't be under construction until 9/1. Lived in an ongoing construction zone around us, however, for most of our stay, sometimes within just feet of our RV. Woken up on countless occasions to loud construction, our water being turned off with no notice/communication, no working laundry facilities, etc. Then 9 days before our planned departure date, we were told to move sites. With 2 days notice. But my husband was working all weekend at the hospital and I was sick with strep throat. Didn't matter to Howard(GM), who informed us to be out or he would call the police.(he said the cement truck was scheduled to be at our site, but very interesting that they hadn't even built the wooden frame to pour it into yet????? So that seems a blatant lie) Never even gave us a new site number to move to for the remaining week we had already paid for. After being treated so poorly, we left the campground a week early, with of course zero compensation. In 4 years of fulltime RVing across the country, we have never ever experienced anything like this. Appalled to be threatened by the cops when we did nothing wrong!!! Their communication, customer service, and hospitality are all deplorable. Will never stay at any Spacious Skies again. Save yourself the aggravation and steer clear!!!!!

Chris, it is understood, based on your public reviews, that you are dissatisfied with the decisions we are making with our campground. As we continue to state, it is our intention to complete projects as quickly as possible, while ensuring they are done properly. We do understand that changes of all sorts can feel very challenging especially during a transitional period.

We want to let you know that we have looked into this matter, and we ultimately agree with our General Manager's decision making based on the agreement. We understand and respect your decision if you choose not to camp at any Spacious Skies properties anymore. We wish you and your family all the best and we hope that you find what you are looking for.

Disappointed

This campground is under new ownership and we can tell that they are working to make improvements. But there are some major disappointments. We're on an extended trip and chose to stay here for the Memorial day weekend. The campground is advertised as having full hookups with Wi-fi and cable. Plus we planned to do laundry at their laundry room. Asked about Wi-fi, "it's not all hooked up yet". Told them our cable didn't work, "it's not connected yet". Asked about the laundry room, "it's closed due to remodeling". I then asked about receiving compensation for services that we are paying for but aren't being provided? "We can't do that". The staff is friendly, the sites are OK, lots of trees and a nice pond but at eighty dollars a night for a campground that is not fully functional, I was disappointed. There were some other things that were annoying but there are at nearly ever place you stay. To me the worst part is advertising services that aren't available and not any mention of them while making a reservation or by the staff at check-in. We won't be returning but maybe others can take this information and check to see if things have changed before they come to stay here.

SiteThe site number has no reflection on the review.

First campground

Arrived on Thursday Dave’s helped me back in. Unhitch which was a disaster as my battery died. He went and retrieved his motorcycle battery and we finally unhitched the vehicles. He showed me how to set up and generally helped me get things going with a cheerful countenance.

Comes with a surprise French Pond

The campground has a gravel area at the sites where the fire ring and picnic tables are. Where we parked our trailer was some gravel sand and dirt. We were at the end of a lane, backing in was fine we are small, 21 feet including tongue, we fit fine. Great site across from a beach, on French Pond I’m guessing is at least 25 acres. Most of the sights are long term. Camp was pretty much full, even then it was quiet. Restroom closed to covid, some campgrounds kept them open and just cleaned more. Well no complaint here we’re self contained. Some areas could use some tidying up. Still I would gladly stay here again.

Pretty Nature

Campground is nice, clean, has a pond, playground, pool, Canoeing, sites are decent size, entertainment on some nights offered in pavilion, friendly staff, pet friendly & quiet nights. We had no issues here & there was lots of nature around, which we love!
