Noisy and crowded

The campground is beautifully maintained and clean, with lots of pride of ownership. Nearly all sites are occupied with seasonals, right on top of each other. So it's like camping in a small city with a few trees overhead. The sites are close enough to hear every word of every conversation and…

Quant with awesome views

This is a great quant campground. It was built back in the 50’s but there are plenty of sites for those of us with large campers. The sites are right on the lake with gorgeous views. Some sites even have their own pier to sit out on and fish or swim from or simply watch nature. They rent kayaks and…

Best Primitive Camping Around

I have been camping at Hermit Island for my entire life. Every year we have an annual camping trip there with friends and family. I believe this is the best primitive camping experience you can have.

Some info that may be helpful. Campsites do not have any electricity, there is no water at the…

Second stay

We tented for two nights mid-week in 2020 and booked the cabin for Memorial Day weekend 2021. I thought we might like it less completely booked but that wasn't the case. The owners are quality people, the seasonal folks are super nice, the facilities are lovely. The weather was cold and rainy but…

Fun, Water, Woods, Freindly

I love Warren Island i have been going every year with for a week each summer for the past 18 years.

I have been there in all conditions and always loved it.  weather it was the time where there was a thunderstorm and a tree got  near our site( no one in any of these got hurt), or the fun time…

Great Beer, Great Food and Great People

My wife and I just spend an overnight here.  The brewery is really cool, and the wood fired pizza is some of my favorite.  The folks who run this place are really friendly and accommodating. Both my wife an I really enjoyed ourselves.

This is definitely an RV park.  The sites are close…

O.K. campground, great water views.

There is not much to say about this campground. We wanted to love it because of its waterfront location in mid-coast Maine but just couldn’t do it. The campground is located in S. Thomaston which is a great location and beautiful area. The access to water and views are really pretty spectacular but…

Great location with amazing views!

This campground is a great option for relatively inexpensive campsite in an area that can have camping costs reach$65-100/night. The park is located on Casco Bay in the town of Freeport(home to L.L. Bean’s flagship store{which is open 24/7} and many other outlets). The views are great and you have…

Not my first choice

Getting into the campground and registering for our site took over an hour. The boat launch... If that's what you want to call it, was not well maintained (crumbling concrete, at a weird angle. Not good for deep hulled boats. The bathrooms weren't bad and the pool was excellent but the not tubs…

Lots to do without leaving the campground

This park has so many amenities and things to do that it is a destination in itself and you and your kids will be busy the entire time. The camp store is fully stocked, there are fishing ponds, golf cart rentals, numerous pools and hot tubs, daily activities, weekly poolside entertainment,…

Moo

It was fun to feed cows and walk goats. Cute farm. Ok playground, large field for pickup style games. Sites are small and not well divided. I had neighbors complain that we were on their side of the post, owners family/staff came to say that no we were fine. No sandy beach, but it's Maine after…

Love it

We love Hermit Island. Very primitive, but thats part of the fun. Private oceanfront getaway. No dogs except one weekend a year. This was nice before I had a dog. No barking. No radios. Just peace and quiet. It has become a little cliquey with "regulars" and "third generation visitors" some feel…

2020, A chance for normalcy in the wake of Covid Pandemic.

Great place for the family kids and adults. There is a kids pool and a pool for the adults only w/bar. A pond for fishing, there are kayaks etc... Shower throughout and I might add very clean. Come check it out. Lots to do.
