        Best Family Friendly RV Park

Bundick Lake Retreat and RV is simply amazing! The spacious RV sites are surrounded by beautiful scenery, and the lake views are breathtaking. We loved the pool, game room, and mini golf course, which kept our family entertained for hours. The pavilion with picnic areas was perfect for gatherings. Great camping in the heart of La

We stopped at this campground for one night on our way home. Some of the sites are close together, but we called and they put us in a spot that was very spacious. There were almost no other campers there so it helps to go in the middle of the week. The staff was very friendly and they had a great hiking path and playground for our 5 year old. I biked most of the paved roads in the state park and was able to go 13 miles without doubling anywhere. The cabins looked great from the outside and are located right on the lake. There is a long fishing pier and boat rentals. This is definitely one we will return to. Also, it is located very close to a lot of antique shopping which my wife wouldn’t let me pass up on my way home.

        Great place.

Great place. I think the best time to visit is in the spring. I highly recommend it. There was also an excellent cinema and casino in the area, which I really enjoyed. Although I prefer betting more because it’s more predictable, and not everything depends solely on luck. By the way, bookies not on gamstop offer very good odds and a wide variety of sports events for betting. I recommend trying them out if you enjoy this as well. As for this place, we plan to visit it again with friends next year because we liked it so much.

Tucked away with a Beautiful Water View

We stayed at spot 99. It was a very quiet spot tucked away on the far side of the campground. It was right off the water and had a beautiful view of the sunrise and all the birds. Pretty far away from the restroom about a.2 mile walk. Not a ton of through traffic since this was on it's own loop. Large wide spots with paved cement made it easy to park and level. Water was on the wrong side of the camp spot, so bring a longer hose. The site had fantastic Verizon cell service, 3 bars with about 100-125 mbps. Overall the campground was clean, quiet, and made for a great weekend getaway.

        Great Campground

Park is well maintained. Spots are nice, especially the ones on the water. No sewer hookups. If you’re looking for a quiet spot, I would avoid the spots near the double pull-thrus. Verizon cell service is fantastic, WiFi works well.

        Great Infrastructure, Great Price

I was impressed with this place. They spared no expense in developing and maintaining this park. I was there in late March and the place was only about 25-30% full. We had ample privacy. The only thing I didn’t like was the lack of bathrooms in the park. There was only one in the office building. I like to rely on park bathrooms as much as possible. This place is designed for self-contained RV camping. I needed cash so I went into the casino and used an ATM. I was charged a$5 fee. Grrrr.  You can't beat the price for a full hookup.

        Kinder, LA….A favorite

Check in was a breeze. Ample sized cement sites with picnic tables. Our 42” 5th wheel has 4 slides and the site was roomy. Hookups we’re good. We were close to dog park which was perfect. Lovely clean campground. The lodge where you register was pretty. Could be marked better as it doesn’t mention anything about registration. There is a guard shack but doesn’t seem to be managed 24/7. So it’s kind of a false sense of security. The pool is large but a long way from the rv park itself. They have a 24 hour shuttle that takes to back and forth to casino. That really is all there is to do here as Lake Charles is 44 min away. We had some people at their camper who felt they should share their music with the entire park. I realize they’re allowed to have loud music until a certain time- however when you can hear it over your TV while sitting in your camper I just think that’s rude! The laundry is very small considering the size of the park and it seemed that people from the hotel used it which I don’t understand as it’s for the RV park. They have 4 dryers only 2 working, 4 washers only 3 working. I had to wait for people to finish with washers and dryers in order to do my 2 loads. Never spent 3 hours doing laundry before. These people were definitely NOT rv’ers! They had suitcases!

        2nd Visit

Very family friendly! The pool was closed, which was sad as it was a very hot weekend. Our son camped in the site next to us. This site was quite close to the two next to us. We were directly across from the lake, which had a couple big gators!! Our site was grass and gravel, level. The traffic and train was quite loud. The host/owners are super sweet! They have a store, game room, laundry, cabins, group sites, gazebo, pool, and snack bar! Pretty grounds, close to ball fields.

        Coushatta RV resort

This place is one of most favorite camping spots. Level concrete pads, electric for both 30 and 50amp with sewer and water all next to each other. Wifi is a bit weak. Dog park for your fur babies to play in. Then you have the Coushatta casino and all its amenities, so no need to travel far for fun and food for adults and kids. Pool area within camp grounds area. The casino side has a lazy river and a swim up bar for adults, also slides. There's also cabins to rent for those without campers or for friends to come stay.

Great for families, really busy most weekends

The main campgrounds are really busy, with good reason. They have a private beach and great amenities, such as Fireworks on Saturdays! I prefer the primitive areas, which are much more private. Weekend can still be busy, but a good spot is usually always available

        Family Fun

We stayed here Friday through Sunday in site 110. Not a perfect site due to no shade. The site was gravel and grass, pretty level. Our camper is 27 ft and it fit nicely, though larger ones would have problems. Be sure to bring extra sewer hose, the sewer is a far reach! The site behind and on the right are very close. (Since we were here for a nearby softball tournament, it was ok.) Site was full hookup for 30 amp only. Amenities include a fishing pond, a swimming pond with inflatables, playground, store, and a dance/concert barn with live music. Also a very clean laundromat and bathhouse. The park management were very sweet and helpful. A little pricey at Friday and Saturday 55 dollars a night, 45 for Sunday through Thursday. Cabins and an apartment are also available to rent.

Beautiful Park, Not Close Enough to Downtown

This is a really nice RV park, and you get a multi day Passport America 1/2 off discount, which is nice (usually the discount is only for one night). Sites are tight, as most RV parks are. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Nice showers and laundry rooms. Hot tub was fun but kind of awkward to use, it was out on the marina side, just kind of on the sidewalk.

We did not eat at the restaurant on site but the store was really nice. They have a daily Katrina documentary playing.

There is no shuttle to downtown anymore. A free shuttle would have made our stay perfect. We don't have a tow car, so getting downtown was a little bit of a hassle. We took the city bus, which was fine, and cheap (something like $1.25) but the bus stop was a mile away and the ride downtown took about an hour. We took Lyft, which came to almost $20 each way. They gave us the name of a guy who will pick you up and bring you back, but that would have come to more than the Lyft.

This was a really nice, beautiful, clean, quiet, peaceful place but next time we're in NOLA we're going to see about staying at the RV park that's right near the French Quarter.

        Indian Creek Recreation Area

        Great Campground and Recreation Area

Let me say first of all, that this is a great campground and recreation area.  For the time we went, September 24-26, 2021, the campground was highly populated.  Friday night and Saturday starting early, it was a bit of a party atmosphere.  Lots of golf carts cruising and loud music.  Sunday was a bit more mellow.  There is nothing wrong with that, just not the type of crowd I was expecting at a forested state park.  I see this type of atmosphere as an RV Resort type atmosphere (such as Cajun Palms).  Maybe this is not typical and it was a one off.

The lake is beautiful and great for paddling or boating.  There are a couple of beaches, which would be great for young kids/families.  The nature trail is respectable in terms of length and quality.  This park has a little bit of everything to fill your time and keep you busy.

        Very peaceful

Me, my wife and lil dog stayed a weekend on the primitive area in a tent. When looking for a spot to put our tent, we found several peak areas that were very nice. We camped near the lake, watched fishermen and boaters during the day. We had a very nice time and would definitely go back!
