After reading negative reviews from 2020, I was hesitant that they were true. That all of the critters from Louisville flock to this area. That wasn’t entirely untrue. This place is absolutely great for people watching, but expect the quiet time hours to not be enforced and a large number of dogs…
The fire tower is the trail head for a hiking only loop called the sycamore trail. It’s not very long but follows a small creek and has some elevation changes

We keep our camper here full-time. Close to Lake Monroe. Nice pool. Great people.
We stopped by Brown County State Park for one night during our travels. This was our first visit and stopped here on a whim. We were very pleased with what the park had to offer. The campground area is very large. Several hundred sites spread out over miles of rolling hills. This place offers…

My daughter and I had our very first camping experience in our new converted van at McCormick’s Creek. When you arrive, there is a minimal entrance fee of $7. You are given a map and directions to your destination. Everyone was so kind and helpful. I didn’t know what to expect as this was my first…
We loved this spot in Brown County. Far enough away from town to be peaceful but close enough to be convenient. Riley has made a great spot to camp and relax. We were able to make it to Lake Lemon quickly as well as Bloomington and downtown beautiful Nashville! I would 100% recommend. I must add…
This is my HipCamp so full disclosure:
We have 3 sites that back up to Yellowwood State Forest and can accommodate tents, vans, and trailers under 12ft.
We are very close to the Brown County frisbee golf course as well as the brown county state park where mountain biking and hiking is top…

Beautiful and very quiet. Don’t bother buying firewood because it’s Impossible to start a fire here. We dumped about half our cooking oil on and still no dice after like an hour and a half.
My daughter and I camped a few nights in a site right on the water. The first morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise over the lake. The nights were still chilly, so there were very few campers. The bathrooms and showers were clean. We will definitely be going back to this jewel of a…

This is a nice but old campground almost all sites are here year around fishing is good very quite if I can get another site next yr I'll come back
Rustic in a level, spacious kind of way. We were nervous about bottoming in the dry creek bed on way to Walnut Grove area, but no problem. Great stay. 20' Ford Transit ModVan. One bar with cell booster.
My husband and I didn’t get to explore too much because it was our maiden voyage and we were trying to figure out how to organize our new home away from home, but from what we saw there are a lot of reasons for us to come back
Our camping spot by the lake was nice and level but it was a bit of a bluff at waters edge. You couldn’t set and fish . There were two big bushes and it was hard to throw out our lines

A Facebook sensation, so we had to try it. This is our first visit to this SRA.
43 lakeside sites. All 43 are close to each other. All have a view of Starve Hollow Lake. Electric only, with water spigots scattered throughout the campground. My picks for the best campsites are 30-34. These…
