Yogi Bears at Lake Monroe

Accessible via paved roads, this family-oriented RV park provides full hookups and pull-through sites on gravel surfaces. Most sites accommodate 50-amp service, though some reviewers note sewer connections positioned awkwardly for certain setups. The campground operates on a reservation system and welcomes pets.

Weekend crowds peak on Saturdays before clearing out Sunday morning. The facility centers around water-based recreation with a splash park that draws families with young children, plus a wading pool for toddlers and a 4-foot-deep swimming pool. A camp store stocks necessities alongside ice cream and slushies, while a food trailer operates during select hours. For additional camping options in the region, visitors can explore camping spots around Harrodsburg.

Site conditions vary, with some back-in spots requiring significant leveling due to sloped terrain. Joe M. notes having to "nearly lower my tongue to the ground to get it level" on his sloped gravel site. The park also maintains primitive camping areas and hiking trails for those seeking different accommodation styles.

The facility targets families with children under eight, offering seasonal activities like Halloween costume contests and pumpkin decorating. Nearby alternatives include Lake Monroe Village and Pine Loop for campers wanting different settings while staying in the Lake Monroe area.

Geared toward younger kids

Nice family campground overall, but really geared toward the 8 and under crowd. Had a back in gravel site that was difficult to back into and sloped back. I had to nearly lower my tongue to the ground to get it level.

The splash park was fun, even for the teen kids, but the pool was tiny and shallow and disappointing. Nice camp store with all the necessities plus ice cream by the scoop and slushies. A food trailer operates in the lot at some hours.

We'd consider staying again.

Great place for kids

If you are camping with kids, they will love this place. It is very busy on Saturday’s (and more thank likely Friday’s) , but it clears out Sunday morning. Most sites are gravel pull throughs and have 50amp. My site as well as all the other pull throughs close by should have had services setup on the opposite side. Whereas power and water were reasonably placed, the sewer was setup in a manner that waste water had to flow uphill.

Awesome Campground

We came here in 2017 with a group of friends and camped in the primitive camping area. It was an awesome set up and we had a great time. We went around Halloween time so the kids participated in a costume contest, pumpkin decorating contest, and trick or treat. The water park was a huge hit with the kids as well, even though it was a little chilly out. Definitely recommend to others, very family friendly.
