Yogi Bears at Lake Monroe

With full hookups and gravel pull-through sites, Yogi Bears at Lake Monroe operates seasonally from late April through October near Bloomington. The campground provides 50-amp electric service alongside water and sewer connections, though some reviewers note sewer hookup placement requires waste water to flow uphill on certain sites.

This family-focused destination centers around water activities and children's programming. The splash park draws families with kids, complemented by a shallow pool and toddler wading area. Joe M. notes "a food trailer operates in the lot at some hours," while the camp store stocks necessities plus hand-scooped ice cream and slushies. Halloween brings costume contests and pumpkin decorating for seasonal campers.

Weekend crowds peak on Saturdays before clearing out Sunday morning. Some back-in sites slope significantly, requiring tongue adjustments for leveling. The campground allows pets and offers reservation booking for the April through October season.

The facility targets families with children under eight, though older kids enjoy the splash park. For those seeking additional options in the area, places to camp around Harrodsburg provide alternatives within the broader region.

Geared toward younger kids

Nice family campground overall, but really geared toward the 8 and under crowd. Had a back in gravel site that was difficult to back into and sloped back. I had to nearly lower my tongue to the ground to get it level.

The splash park was fun, even for the teen kids, but the pool was tiny and shallow and disappointing. Nice camp store with all the necessities plus ice cream by the scoop and slushies. A food trailer operates in the lot at some hours.

We'd consider staying again.

Great place for kids

If you are camping with kids, they will love this place. It is very busy on Saturday’s (and more thank likely Friday’s) , but it clears out Sunday morning. Most sites are gravel pull throughs and have 50amp. My site as well as all the other pull throughs close by should have had services setup on the opposite side. Whereas power and water were reasonably placed, the sewer was setup in a manner that waste water had to flow uphill.

Awesome Campground

We came here in 2017 with a group of friends and camped in the primitive camping area. It was an awesome set up and we had a great time. We went around Halloween time so the kids participated in a costume contest, pumpkin decorating contest, and trick or treat. The water park was a huge hit with the kids as well, even though it was a little chilly out. Definitely recommend to others, very family friendly.
