      Lebanon-Cincinnati NE KOA

      Friendly and quiet

There are a lot of people here, but even during the day we hardly hear any loud noises coming from any of the other campers. Walking the property (as much as I can with my cane) everyone is so friendly. The grounds are kept very clean. The people from the office actually do garbage pick-up anytime during office hours! Just place your trash bag/ other items to be thrown away at the front of your site and they take it away. They even have recycling, but you have to take that up yourself. They won't just tell you where it is, they will show you. I haven't been to a KOA site in 15 years and the one I went to was not a great experience, but I highly recommend staying here if you're passing through Cincinnati.

      Rough Access

We made reservations to stay here for 3 nights and missed the first night due to damaging weather nearby, (tornadoes in Cincinnati.) On day two when we arrived we found the access driveway to be deeply creviced from washout conditions. We straddled the crevices on the uphill drive but we were unable to make the 90° narrow access to the site, spinning out in the wet grass on multiple tries.

The only option for exit is to back down the driveway, which in our MB Cruiser (8,000+ lbs) was challenging.

The host is extremely communicative and a pleasure to chat with pre-arrival and completely understanding of our dilemma. We chose not to stay the remaining nights.

Had the weather been favorable, access may have been much easier and is definitely passable for car, truck or small van camping. If your turning radius is long, reserve site #1 which may have been passable for us but we did not attempt because that is not what we had reserved, but the host later offered to us. Site #1 is the lower grassy flat with much wider access.

Check with host about condition of driveway and entry before reserving.

      Dayton KOA Holiday

      Not for class B vans

Arrived after 7:00 p.m. to find an envelope with my campsite number of 78 and directions. The site was a tiny back in site that was so slanted downward that you had to go in head first to keep your head level with or above your feet. Of course, that puts the utilities on the wrong side of the van. There were other sites that were appropriate and were empty and after looking around I believe number 78 is the worst site in the whole facility.

      Olive Branch Campground

Seems like a nice campground but I only stayed one night and arrived late.

The person that took my reservation (Carrie) was very nice. As we were a late arrival at night, we were reserved for site #122 and found someone already in our site. The office was closed and the night/emergency number had a full mailbox. A nice couple helped us figure out a new site for the night, but with two small children in tow, it made for a difficult evening. Lastely, I never received my reservation confirmation. I did however received one for Gwen who is scheduled to stay starting on 7/30/26. I do not know who she is but I hope she receives her  confirmation. I personally would not return to this campground.

      Versailles State Park Campground

      Beware of additional daily Fee

Campground is clean but aging. Out-of-state visitors should be aware that they will be charged a $15.00 daily entry fee in addition to their $30-$40. camping fee. Some sights are very unlevel; others are nearly impossible to back into. The staff is nice and friendly.

The park contains a pioneer village with historical structures.

    What you should know

Reservation requirements: Most cabin facilities require advance booking, especially during summer. "Get your ideal site early during busy season," advises Kenneth D. about Winton Woods. Weekends often book 2-3 months in advance, while weekdays may have availability with shorter notice.

Supply availability: While cabins include beds, many require guests bring their own bedding. "There are 123 campsites including RV sites, tent pads, and camping cabins," notes Nancy W. The nearest grocery stores and supply outlets are typically 15-30 minutes away by car.

Seasonal considerations: Operating seasons vary by facility. "We stayed one night at Winton Woods because it was close to friends we were visiting. Tips for camping with families

They also have cabin and tent camping. The location is located on the lake with access to put in a kayak or canoe. There is a playground for children," reports Anne H.

Kid-friendly activities: Morgan's Outdoor Adventures offers riverside cabin accommodations with family-oriented recreation. "Steps away from gorgeous river views. There is nothing like waking up and making breakfast while watching the river roll by!" states Lerin P. Their cabins provide direct water access.

Noise considerations: Some cabin areas experience more weekend activity. "Quiet during the week," notes Jeff S. about Follow The River RV Resort. Weekends often feature organized activities and higher occupancy rates.

    Tips from RVers

Site leveling: Cabin renters should check site conditions when booking. "Our site was level and the roads were easy to navigate in our motorhome," notes Nancy W. about Winton Woods, while Kara S. states about Stonelick: "Nice big sites, fairly level. We camped at site 35 and it was very slopey, our levelers only helped a little."

Weather preparation: Cabins provide shelter but visitors should prepare for local weather conditions. "It is hot in June, so bring a canopy if your RV doesn't have one," advises Jessica G. about Follow The River RV Resort. Spring and fall temperature variations can require both heating and cooling options.
