Madison City Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations at Madison City Park are handled by email only, which is worth knowing before you plan a trip to this municipal RV campground on the Ohio River waterfront in Madison, Indiana. The 34 full-hookup sites run $30 to $40 per night depending on location, with sites 1 through 18 offering 50-amp electric and the higher daily rate, and sites 19 through 34 running on 30-amp service at the lower price. No tent camping is permitted. The campground is open April through October, and sites fill quickly during riverfront events, so advance reservations are strongly recommended.

Sites sit close together with minimal separation between rigs, a trade-off reviewers consistently accept because of the Ohio River frontage. Barges and motorboats pass within view throughout the day, and Stacy M. sums it up simply: "A great view of the river." The camp hosts, noted by multiple visitors for their attentiveness, greet arrivals on-site and provide a packet of local dining and activity information. Restrooms and showers are kept clean, according to several reviewers.

The campground's position makes it walkable to downtown Madison's restaurants, wineries, a brewery, antique shops, and historic architecture. Key West Shrimp House comes up by name in reviews. The Clifty Falls State Park Campground is another option in the area for campers who want more natural surroundings or tent-accessible sites. Madison City Park works best for RV travelers who want a base close to river activity and town amenities rather than seclusion.

Peaceful

The check-in was very easy and the camp host met us at our vehicle and gave us all the information about our site. He and his wife had put together a package of literature about the town and places to eat, etc. which was very nice and helpful. They were very accommodating!

SiteSite 7 The site was directly on the river and was beautiful and peaceful . Everything was immaculate and it was quiet.

Love This Place!

This is a wonderful campground with beautiful views of the picturesque Ohio River. Relax at your campsite and watch the barges and boats go by. Randy and his wife are your camp hosts and they are friendly and would help you with anything. The bathrooms are very clean and your sites are too.

Great Ohio River Views

This spot is perfect for immersing yourself in the local culture of the historic river town of Madison , Indiana. The campground is managed by the City of Madison and is located on prime Ohio River waterfront. The campground offers 34 class A sites; 24 have 30 amp and 10 providing 50 amp electric. Dump station available along with restrooms and showers. No tent camping allowed. Sites 1 through 18: Daily$40, Weekly$240. Sites 19 through 34: Daily$30, Weekly$180. The campground is seasonal running from April through October and reservations can be made in advance by email only madisoncampground98@yahoo.com. Sites are very close together with little privacy however; location is the trade off. You can easily walk to everything; river walk, local dining hot spots, grocery, wineries, brewery, antique stores and several historic sites. The towns architecture is not to be missed...so take a stroll around town. Many activities take place along the riverfront during the season; so plan ahead to make sure a site is available. This is not about the campground...it's all about the location.

Outstanding Views

Great place to camp if you like being next to water, amazing views, fast boats, and good food. Key West Shrimp House is a landmark restaurant with great food. So convenient when you are joining in on all the fun of the Regatta boat races, bands, and fireworks. Just a nice walk to all the many things to do. Really enjoyed the city of Madison, IN with a small town atmosphere.
