EV Car Camping

I’m a novice car camper, sleeping in my Tesla Model 3. This campground is quiet and clean. The host is very friendly and knowledgeable. Each site has 50 amp electric service (so you can charge your EV with a NEMA 14-50 plug), fresh water, fire pits, and picnic tables. A nice stop to visit the…

Small and quiet

Stayed the night on our way to Springfield. The campground has pull thru sites with water and electric only. Some shade trees and sites are gravel. This use to be a golf course and the cart paths are now walking trails. Be careful as the paths are in poor condition with cave ins in some areas and…

Years ago this was my families favorite place to camp. After. Many years things just weren’t what they used to be. THINGS HAVE CHANGED! I LOVED IT! It’s perfect again. So clean, great people. It’s not your typical (packed in like sardines) rv park by any means. It’s far from that. It’s peaceful…

Hidden Gem for Tent Camping (Site 11)

Nicely spaced out camp sites that feature the standard camp pad, picnic bench and fire pit.  Camp in this corner site close to parking and one of the main trails.  Site 12 is close to this one setting back off the path and probably would be my second choice.  Close to path that goes through Site 13…

Nice find

Nice campsite! Hidden amongst the corn fields…little town of Nashville had ample supplies for restocking! Tent area was flat! Quiet after 10pm. Lots of nature sounds at night.

Shady and space for privacy

We loved that the campsites are well-separated by a lot of shady trees.

Great camping

The campsite was big and the sites were spaced apart nicely. The bathrooms and showers were clean. Fern Clyffe has great hiking trails.

Shawnee Forest Campground

This campground is very nice. It's only 1/4 mile from the highway but still quiet. They have a couple of ponds to fish in and the restrooms are clean. They also have a laundry room.

Gorgeous lake side views

Amazing campground with amazing views! The lake had the most amazing sunset! Everyone is super friendly and we recommend the blue jay loop for best views and swimming access to the lake. Shower house is also within a short walk to the blue jay trail. Lots of room for kids to play and bike. Level…

Neat campground

Pros: Right on the Mississippi River. Full hook ups. Beautiful state park with awesome trails and visitor center. Cons: Sites are tight along the river. Train goes right behind the campground, be warned!

This is really an under developed campground. There are only about a dozen campsites even…

Firefly show!

Clean open campground with little privacy. Well kept bathrooms and water pumps throughout. Short trail leads from campground to the limestone cliffs. Once darkness hit the fireflies in the forest were magnificent!
