Best Cabin Camping near Thomasville, GA

This beautiful hidden gem is just a stone’s throw west of Adel, Georgia. Accessible off of Interstate 75, this State Park is worth visiting. Activities you can enjoy are camping, boating, fishing, kayaking, hiking, swimming, geocaching, and picnicking. The staff are wonderful and the campground is well kept. They have bike a bike rental shop at the campground along with firewood and other necessities. There’s a shower house that is availability to all campers. We absolutely love it here!! So close to home but far enough to get away:)

We love this state park park with its large wooded campsites, 375 acre lake and river for paddling & fishing, 7 miles of multi use trails for hiking & biking trails, playgrounds, and putt putt golf. Home to gopher turtles, alligators,deer and seasonal home to vultures and bald eagles makes wildlife spotting fun. The landscape runs the gamut from coastal plain to pine forest. Those visiting for the day may enjoy the catfish cabin restaurant just outside the park. Since the park is only 7 miles from 1-75 this can easily be a great overnight stop.

Reed Bingham is located on route 37 which is an Agro-tourism road. The route features vineyards, olive farms, boutique hotels, specialty shops, local produce, farms and two state parks....to name just a few places for you to visit. We also enjoyed biking to the Horse creek winery in Sparks, Ga just 7 miles away. (This winery is also a harvest host).

Campground- sites are large and graveled. Outer loop locations have more shade trees. Premium sites have sewer in addition to water/30/50AMP picnics tables,fire rings and some with grills too. There are no cabins.

The paddle in campground for 30 is pretty cool since it is its own island. There is also a nice group/pioneer camping and a couple of walk in tent sites that are on a little island with a bridge walkway.

There are rentals for bikes and paddling. The beach for swimming is more of a wading beach and since I have seen the alligators in this lake i do not recommend swimming anywhere else on your own.

Paddling/Fishing is fun on the 375 acre lake. The lake also connects to little river and it is a @ 3 hour leisurely up river paddle to Red Robin Boat ramp in Adel Georgia (aka Colquitt boat ramp) ->if you have a way to drop off and paddle downriver to Reed Bingham it would be more relaxing.

The 5k running/walking route for the annual Little River 5k is easy to follow in the park for your activity pleasure.

Well-maintained campground with small cabins (some with AirConditioning) and RV sites. Friendly staff / owners. Easy access from Atlanta, Albany, and from Florida. Located on the Flint River. Very reasonably priced as well!

A lot of the allotted tent sites were in weird spots near the road or among the cabins but we found a nice spot near the lake. Using our own kayaks on the water was free, but they also have boats and canoes for rent. Trails are pretty and easy. Only complaint was a loud group of teenagers in the middle of the night during the “quiet hours” hanging out on the dock.

Wonderful State Park in southern Georgia! Chose our site from the pictures and it was perfect. Sites in lower loop one were spaced out and the back in sites were tucked into the woods, just the way we had hoped. Most sites are gravel and ours was well maintained and level, with a new large picnic table and fire pit with grill cover. The basic cable was a bonus! Restrooms were older but clean and well stocked. The upper loop 2 had a brand new bath house, and both had laundry facilities. The park itself has TONS of open green space! Great quiet weekend getaway.

Quiet state park with full hookups, power & water and grassy tent sites. Gopher turtle reserve with great hiking trails. 2 shower houses, mini golf and canoe rentals on lake. Fishing with state license. Walmart, McDonalds, Burger king and sit-down resturants in town (about 7 miles).

Stayed in our RV several days over the course of a weekend. We were in the loop (1) that did not have sewer hookup but there was a dump station available for when we left. The newer Loop (2) has nicer bathrooms and showers and laundry as well as sites with sewer hookup. Some sites have more shade than others, we were at site 9 which was very shaded. Great kayaking available and rentals are available as well. Good hiking trails, too.

Ed and Bernices is a hidden gem.  Beautiful park.  Very peaceful.  You have a boat ramp for use with your rental.  The park and bathrooms are very clean.  Staff is very nice and helpful.  A fish cleaning station.  Bring your toys for the river, we had a blast.  Everyone in the park treated us like family.  Our pets were welcome.   Just cant say enough about this park.  I really enjoyed my time there and am going to be back soon.  You’ll love it.

We enjoyed this campground (CG) as this was our 4th year coming back. There is plenty of signage and GPS takes you right to the CG. You turn left after the railroad tracks that will take you around the golf course, past the clubhouse, and to the check-in office. Do not go to the clubhouse to register, it is a small parking lot not suitable for RVs. After we checked in, we proceeded to buddy sites 60 and 60A. We easily backed into 60A and set up for our two-month stay. Madison had a rough 2023 with hurricane damage that was still being cleaned up when we arrived in mid-February. Our nightly rate is based on the monthly rate and golf package. We enjoyed golfing on their 9-hole course. WiFi is better than normal for this sized CG and we got two bars on Verizon. We had clear shots of the southern or northern sky for satellite and several OTA channels. On the back of the office are showers and a laundry room with 4 washers and 4 dryers. Firewood& propane were available and included propane pickup(set the tank at the end of your site) and firewood delivery if requested. The CG has a nice mix of back-in and pull-thru sites. Our buddy site was spacious, but we would rate the other sites as"nearby." They also have three cabins for rent. This CG is not a kids’ destination(big pro for us) as there is no playground nor much to do for the young ones. The CG is more adult-oriented with a pickleball court and activities such as group walks or special events like golf tournaments/leagues, karaoke, game nights, and potlucks. There is a large(about 2 acres) fenced dog park with a fenced-off area for small dogs. If you are allergic to train noise, a train track is adjacent to the CG. Trains run periodically normally during the day. Otherwise, this is a quiet park considering its size.

We arrived and checked in with no problems and were then escorted to site 60a to meet up with our travel partners who were in site 60, which are their buddy sites by the pond. Our nightly rate was based on the monthly rate and included a golf cart and golfing on their well maintained 9 hole course. WiFi was better than normal for this sized CG and we got two bars on Verizon but put up our WeBoost for more capability. We had a clear shot to the southern sky for satellite plus quite a few OTA channels. There are 3 very nice individual shower rooms, plus laundry facility with 4 washers and 4 dryers. Firewood& propane were available and included propane pickup(set the tank at the end of your site) and firewood delivery if requested. The CG has a nice mix of back-in and pull thru sites. Our buddy site was spacious, but would rate the other sites as"nearby." They also added another cabin for a total of three. This CG was definitely not a kids destination(big pro for us) as there was no playground nor much to do for the young ones, to include they aren't allowed to operate the golf carts. The CG was more adult oriented with a pickle ball court and activities such as group walks or special events like golf tournaments/leagues, karaoke and potlucks. A huge bonus for us was their large(about 2 acres) fenced dog park. This year they fenced off an area for small dogs. We also enjoyed daily walks around the CG and along the front of the golf course. If you are allergic to train noise, there is a train track adjacent to the CG. Trains didn't run everyday, but when they did, they were mainly during daylight hours. Otherwise, this was a quiet park considering its size. The mobile RV repair service this CG recommends is very good, and works with extended warranties. If you’re a foodie or desire a robust touristy experience, this is probably not the destination for you.

Firewood& propane were available, including free propane pickup(set the tank at the end of your site) and firewood delivery if requested. The CG has a nice mix of back-in and pull-thru sites. Our buddy site was spacious, but would rate the other sites as"nearby." They also have three cabins for rent. This CG is definitely not a kids’ destination(big pro for us) as there is no playground nor much to do for the young ones, including they aren't allowed to operate the golf carts. Trains didn't run every day, but when they did, they have been during daylight hours. Otherwise, this was a quiet park considering its size. Madison has your basic amenities and a few restaurants. Valdosta, GA, is about 30 minutes away with the major amenities such as Walmart and big box stores. If you’re a foodie or desire a robust touristy experience, this is probably not the destination for you.

One of the better State Parks in Georgia

Four friends and I took a road trip for spring break and our second stop was Reed Bingham. We were supposed to camp on the paddle in site but recent rains wouldn't let us. They were very accommodating and gave us their pioneer site, with it's only personal outhouse, and a 20% refund. The pioneer site was a lot of fun. The downside of the park was their Georgia camper patches were very sad looking an unraveled (they look a lot better at other parks. We don't know why but if you're a patch person buy them at Stephen C. Foster) and they sold us wet wood so were weren't able to get a good fire going. We had bought two and we asked for a refund for the one we didn't use and we got it.  Fun hiking too with good bathrooms at the entrance but again, because of the rain, some of the trails were closed so out hikes were cut short. Obviously the rain isn't their fault, it's just something to keep in mind if you go after it's rained. All in all a good place to camp.

The camp staff was very friendly and helpful but the obnoxious camp post put a damper on our stay. I hope they fix this. there were not a lot trees but lots of trails nearby. Nice bathhouse.

We stopped here overnight on our way to Stone Mountain. great, big sites. Lots of room for kids to run around and play. immaculate facilities. unfortunately at the time of year we were there there were lots of gnats.

Have waited six months into our RV life to start reviews for fair comparisons. Spent 8 nights. This was one of the most unexpected pleasant surprise campgrounds we have stayed at. Great hiking (gorgeous boardwalks) and biking within the park as well as lake access. The most friendly camp hosts hands down in six months. Rangers/staff in the office were great. Nice laundry facilities and firewood. Overall just a fabulous almost neighborhood feel.

We arrived on Easter Sunday and stayed in our 5th wheel on site #1 for three nights. It was easy to get in but make sure you take the right to the check in area. We tried the little hut and had to swing around to get into registration. 

Our site had water and electric and we were very close to an older but clean bathhouse. A newer larger bathhouse was a very short walk away. 

Our site was kind of in the middle of things but did not feel too close or crowded.  Our camp host was friendly and helpful. 

We enjoyed walking and biking on the trails. It's not particularly strenous but long boardwalks lead through a beautiful swampy area. We went out kayaking on the Little River and when we got back into the swampy area it was stunningly beautiful and peaceful. The trees almost looked like they were suspended in the air. (Not crazy about the gators though since we were in an inflatable kayak!) Bought a fishing pass for a day but no luck catching anything. 

A morning walk revealed a tree full of buzzards that swooped in and out of the trees. 

The jet skis and boaters can get kind of noisy if you're not into that kind of thing but except for Easter Sunday, a busy day, it wasn't constant. 

Didn't seem to be any park wifi though there was TV cable. Got a decent signal on Verizon phone, poor signal on AT&T hotspot and excellent signal on TMobile hotspot. 

We would not hesitate to come back. Enjoyed our stay!

Making our way from FL to OH, stopped here for the night. Huge pull through sites, quiet people, everything worked great. Would come again

This SP was recommended by full time campers and it is exactly like they described. A lot of pull through sites along with back ups. Sites are spacious and not right on top of each other. There is plently of tree trimmed shade. I will visit this park again.
