Whether you are coming to Georgia for work, play, vacation or to live, Riverside Estates RV Park has many advantages. It is friendly, safe, and clean. You can select a 30 or 50 amp site. There are 3 sections to choose from. A-Section is near the street for easy access to the freeway, B-Section runs beside the Yellow River, and C-Section is further back and very quiet. You can select a sunny site or a shaded one from the 100 plus sites available.
The Park is close to almost anything you could desire for shopping, eating, exercising, clubbing, purchasing building and electrical supplies, and recreating on lakes and rivers. I-20 West offers the quickest access to Atlanta as compared to all the other freeways, which is very important, considering the traffic in the area.

. QUIET!! PRIVATE!!
We enjoyed our stay at Pine Mountain RV Resort. Our site had full hook ups to include cable TV and grass on both side of the RV which was great for our fur babies. We enjoyed the pool but the hot tub water was green with stuff floating in it. I rated the place four stars, would have been five is we could have used the hot tube.
This is a nice RV park. There are full hook ups, a laundry room, 3 ponds with fishing, decent cell service. They also did a 4th of July get together for the local community and had blow up rides, a dj, food and fireworks. The sites are spaced out in some sections and closer in others, but overall very nice.
Owner and office (Mike & rhonda) are very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Full hookups, salt h2o sparkling pool. Over 55. Bath house - dated but clean. Laundry facilities. Some firepits and some picnic tables. Spaced well. Accommodates short or long term camping. Gathering covered area with seating, tv, wood burning fireplace and large grill. Dogs on leash.
Make sure to check out my video review below where I show you around some of the campground. This is much more of a mobile home or RV park than a campground since most of the people staying here are set up for long term residency rather than for a night or two. Additionally, it is right near downtown Atlanta so not exactly where I would want to spend the night if it wasn’t more of a home situation. If this is your purpose I would first check out the Atlanta West Campground down the street since it was significantly nicer in my opinion. This location seems mostly like a large parking lot where you can park and set up your site but there is not really any privacy or separation between different RVs. Only a couple miles away is Sweetwater State Park which is well worth a visit and has some wonderful hiking trails.
My husband and I called the Atlanta South KOA campground to make reservations for the night on October 16, 2020, as we were traveling across country to sell one of our homes. We felt safer driving, rather than flying, due to the Corona Virus pandemic. We made 2 round trips back and forth, from Florida to Oregon to accomplish this. We told the man at the desk, who took our reservation, we had a 22’campervan and we would be in about 7:30 PM. We told him it was a Pacifica, and when asked about what class it was I told him I had no idea. He apparently wrote down that it was class b, as that is what appeared on our receipt. We told him we had no sewer hookup and would prefer to be close to the bathrooms, and if they happen to have a back in site we would prefer that also. We paid the$45 and completed the reservation. Our van is a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica with the conversion in it to create the campervan as stated here: https://www.contravans.com/chrysler-pacifica-details We arrived on time and just wanted to get right to sleep, to begin the last day of driving in the morning. At 11:30 PM we were awoken by the manager and one other man beating on the window saying“we lied” and need to be out immediately. My husband calmly asked him what he meant. He said we weren’t in a campervan and need to leave now. The manager was holding a 20” metal Maglight flashlight that he was pounding in his hand to intimidate us. We felt he was ready for a George Floyd incident, although we are white. I went out of the van and asked him how we had lied. He said there is a campervan named the Pacifica also and ours was not a campervan. I have since looked this up and the Pacifica RV is a HUGE motorhome. I never implied to be anything close to that Pacifica. He said a campervan needed a toilet attached to the floor, although the camper right beside us was a mini 4’ high trailer and didn’t have one. The conversation escalated because we were dumbfounded this was happening and very afraid of what he was forcing us to do. We are senior citizens and peacefully traveling across country to get business done and he was telling us to leave after driving 12 hours that day. He said we were to go stay in a Walmart in Atlanta, Georgia, in the middle of the night. He was totally unreasonable, rude and threatening. He ended up calling the police to have us escorted out, but we chose to leave before they arrived, but saw three police cars drive by as we were leaving. We have never experienced anything like the treatment we received at the Mcdonough, GA RV park, and we have used KOA campgrounds since 1977. We felt in extreme danger being expelled in that part of town in the middle of the night without enough sleep, and if we would have had an incident of any kind we would have sued both Altanta Sound RV Resort and the Good Sam Campgrounds for endangering us, with a high probability of success. We did not tell any lies, but apparently he presumed something and decided we needed to pay for it. These two were like thugs and I will be placing this review on every venue I can find to get it into. We have read other reviews about the behavior of these tyrants and it is similar to what we experienced. He even said he has control over the reviews so he didn’t care about anything we had to say. The most aggressive one had long white hair, and the other one had short white hair, just for some degree of identification.
No frills. It's clean and close to everything. Big lots for us big rigs and the trailers too. Septic connections. Place to fill LP. 2 week stays and wait list for long terms.
This place is small but has a lot to offer. They have RV hookups and putt putt golf. They offer cabin rentals and a lake “beach” for swimming and paddle boat rentals. I usually come here to grill out for family events and to do some fishing. Not a bad little place to visit.
I stayed here long term for a couple of years while working in Atlanta (my house is 1.5 hours away so I stay in town when working). They have nightly sites and long term sites, a bathhouse, laundry, and the office staff are very nice. The sites have gravel which is nice. You are close to highway so you here some road noise but it’s still pretty quiet.
There’s a McDonald’s, 2 gas stations, Starbucks, kfc, smoothie king, and a Burger King just down the street so quick to eat food options are there.
Most people in here are long term week+, there are 4 areas, and one is a flood zone. They are still upgrading the park slowly but they are. The park is very kid friendly, there is a dog pen area, there are dog waste bag stations. There is a laundry room, bathhouse, and every site has water and sewer hook up. It is gated and there is a fob for everything for safety. It is a great place the manager here is awesome. Been here over a year now.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights due to work in ATL. Mostly long term tenants, but a handful of short term sites. We stayed due to the proximity to the city. It's cheap and safe, but not somewhere you want to hang out all day.
great sites in shaded area. Mot far from Atlanta. Sites are well maintained, bathrooms were decent. full hook up . small pool was disappointing.
This campground is ok to stay at on the road just for an evening of rest to catch up on grocery or amenities for the trip ahead and maybe a quick dip in the pool, showers were clean . Campers are very close and alot of long term live ins like I said a good close to hwy overnight cause your tired nothing for kids but the pool and a lil playground
Ashley here with The Dyrt, welcoming your host Terri! This private campsite on 20 acres offers full hook-ups. Check them out and leave them some love!
Just got home from a great weekend at LTP. Sites are nice we were at site 11 pull thru with full hook up. Splash park was fun and clean for the kids as well as really nice walking trails we enjoyed.
This park is located just south of Atlanta an d is a great place to overnight on your way to a destination, or for more long term stay for out of town workers. Lots of shopping and good restaurants nearby
Great staff, grounds very and clean neatly kept. A little snug getting in and out with a big rig, but absolutely doable.
A great place to pull off of I75 and get out of the traffic . Sleep in and then take off when traffic is not so heavy!!
Overall: A
The Good: the site connections were all available, even in late December. The upper loop road for the small campers was super clean and quiet. The bathhouse was a pleasant surprise. They were spacious, warm and clean.
The Not So Great: the site location, while close to the interstate was via some smaller mostly residential streets. The back loop road appeared to be where the long term rentals were located and was much more cluttered and less presentable.
No Assessment: there were several other amenities that we didn’t have the opportunity to use that appeared nice, clean, and accessible.
Nice big spaced out spots, that offer full hook ups. Friendly staff, good hiking trails, creeks for kids to play in. Pull through and back in paved sites. They also offer tent sites.
Cons - have to call to book, weekend campers destroyed bathhouses, and lack of cleaning crew
We had a large site in a new loop (orange) with views of East Lake and the side of Stone Mountain. Roads are nice and wide, easy to get in and out of the back in sites. Full hook up with cable. Camp store has reasonable prices for fire wood and ice.
This was a very clean park with paved loop and sites. It had nice grassy areas and swing set and bike and walking trails. Full hook ups are available. Campground host wasn't very friendly and seemed annoyed we did not have a reservation even though there were plenty of sites open.
Good cell reception with AT&T and Verizon.
Wowzzzzaaaa Georgia is amazing!!! This camp ground is great, the roads for sure can be improved... a lot of bumps and a rough rode, so be careful when driving. Other than that nice camp ground surrounded by trees and an amazing park right across the way with huge grounds to run your dogs. Full hook ups and some partial Propane available. Trash available Picnic tables at each spot Spots are close together Quiet neighbors and area
A few years ago, I visited this location because I considered living long term in an RV. The location is in a good spot right off the free way. It is clean. Staff at the front desk was nice and allowed me to go in to see how I liked it. I saw a few people outside and asked for their opinion of the location and their lifestyle and they all said that they loved it there and had been at that location for a while.
Fast forward to now. I called to ask if Skoolie’s were allowed on the property and the nice lady that answered the phone said that the owner does not allow them.
If you have an RV, you will be fine. I’ve lived in Henry County for over 15 years, not too far from this campground. This area is not known for crime and is located close to a main shopping center.
This is a smaller park, but the sites are spread out well. Super quiet, lots of trails to follow - including paved ones (bonus for us as we have a baby in a stroller), full hook ups (w,e,s), and has a splash park during the summer time. We will be returning quite a bit since it’s close to home.
We've stayed here numerous times over the past two years as full-time RVrs. They have two small lakes with a swim/picnic area on larger lake. Fishing and non-motor boating on both. There are paved and non-paved walking paths. Two+ bathroom/
shower areas and an inexpensive 1 washer, 1 dryer laundry. They are currently working on an additional camping area with full hook-ups.
Huge campground and you never have to leave the park for anything. Huge lake that you can not swim in. Bathhouses are nice. They have a lot of different loops from primitive all the way up to full hook up with cable tv and WiFi. The kids will never get bored at this park. They have a speaker system in the campgrounds that alert you when bad weather is on the way.
We got very little sleep because the road noise was so loud with many large trucks passing by all night long. (Yet a good thing for the economy!) We were given a spot close to the front of the campground, so perhaps the ones in the back are better. In addition, there was a propane leak somewhere near the office that we could smell inside our camper with the hatch open.
On the positive side, the bathroom was renewly renovated and spotless. The grounds looked maintained. The office staff member we called while we were on the road couldn't have been more helpful and efficient. The campground appeared to be full despite the noise factor. The campers were all very quiet and many looked like they are long term campers, so they're apparently accustomed to the noise and can ignore it.
