Highland Marina Resort Campground

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available at Highland Marina Resort Campground, a privately managed lakeside facility in LaGrange, Georgia, with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections alongside WiFi and a dump station. Boat-in access is a notable feature here, and the open terrain along the lake gives the site a waterfront character that draws RV campers and cabin renters alike. Pets are permitted throughout the property.

Conditions on the ground have drawn criticism in recent reviews. Reviewers have flagged maintenance issues across the property, including broken power poles, uneven sites, and bathrooms in poor condition. Mary C. noted that site 117 had water pooling unevenly, describing it as "water is on one side and lower on the other." Noise is another documented concern: a bar located across an inlet from the campground reportedly played loud music into the early morning hours on at least one visit. Stray animals have also been mentioned.

Management practices have added to the frustration for some guests. One family reported that credits issued under previous ownership were not honored after a change in management, resulting in a significant financial dispute. The marina and cabin accommodations received more favorable notes in an older review, though that assessment predates the ownership transition.

Campers weighing their options in the area may want to consider Troup County Pyne Road Park or 3 Creeks Campground as nearby alternatives.

Greedy run down resort

So our family booked 2021 June to reserve two dockside cabins fully paid for and end up having a family emergency where emergency surgery was needed. Due to the severity of the situation considering brain surgery recovery time, the manager at the time gave us credit rather than a refund and said we had two years to use the credit. Since then the new owners have taken over and decided that they will not honor the credit of the business that they purchased. NOWHERE IN OUR PAPERWORK DOES IT STATE THAT THE CREDIT IS ONLY GOOD FOR ONE YEAR. The sum of the reservation was just about three grand and we have come to learn that we are no longer eligible to use our credit because of the new owners/management company. The resolution they came to was that we rebook, spend another 3 grand more on what we have already purchased and they would ever so graciously credit us one night per cabin. UNACCEPTABLE. WE WILL BE FORWARDING THIS TO THE GEORGIA CONSUMER PROTECTION BUREAU. WORD OF ADVICE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS RESORT. LISTEN TO THE PREVIOUS REVIEWS AS MY FAMILY DID NOT AND WE FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY.

Horrible Campground!

Stayed here last night. We were supposed to stay 2 nights but barely made it through one. This place is rundown, dirty and has stray cats roaming and huge buzzards flying around. Site 117 is a mud pit. No gravel or concrete just an extra wide dirt/mud site. Water is on one side and lower on the other. Site 115 next to us had its power pole broken and laying on the ground. My husband went in the bathroom and told me not to go. If he thought it was bad, I can only imagine. The Hooch Hideaway, a seedy bar is just across an inlet from the campground. They played loud country/rock music until 2:00 am. Could not sleep. Avoid this campground!
