    Perry Ponderosa RV Park

    Safe, well kept campground

My husband and I choose to stay here when in the Macon area. Stayed 3+ months in lot 57, 2 weeks in lot 45 and 1 week in lot 14. Wonderful owners that live on-site. There are several full time campers but never any riffraff. Lots of room for dog's to walk and run their humans. Propane fill station, WiFi, laundry room, shower house, bathroom's and a small playground. Easily accessible right off the highway, level sites, 30 & 50 Amp, Water & Sewer and many pull through sites. A pool would make it 5 stars for me 😀

    Love's RV Stop-Cordele GA 801

    Great Short Stay Campground

This review is written from a short-stay campground (CG) perspective versus a destination location. RV GPS took us right to the Loves Travel Stop from I-75. The Love’s Travel Stop is adjacent to the truck area exit. We used the gate code provided in the email and proceeded to back-in site 23 at the far end of the CG. Back-in was easy and the utilities were towards the back of the cement pad. The 50 amp electric worked great including not going out during the severe thunderstorms we experienced during our overnight stay. The water pressure was good at around 51 psi. We chose site 23 as it has a little yard and is a bit separated from the campsite on our door/passenger side. Site 24 was very close to our utilities side. There was grass and a fire pit barbecue at the rear of both sites 23 and 24. There’s a picnic table that could have been moved over to site 23 from 24. The pull-through sites are very close together and do not have a picnic table or a fire pit. There are back-in sites of various lengths around the back fence line with covered picnic table patios that overlook a field. There are also back-in sites at the front of the CG that back up to the Loves truck parking area. There were a couple of decent yard sites there, but there would be more road and truck noise. At site 23, there were truck and occasional train noises, but not as bad as we expected. This little CG has all your amenities for a short stay. The building at the gate has showers, restrooms, laundry, ice, a beverage machine, and firewood. There was also a nice dog park with a side for large dogs and another for small dogs. They had a little splash park playground and a pickleball court. We got 4 bars LTE on Verizon. Currently, there are no mature trees near any of the sites, so satellite would not be a problem. Their Wifi worked okay. One side of the CG is adjacent to the Love’s truck and gas station and the opposite side has a pretty field with trees. We’ve stayed at several Loves RV Travel Stops, and this one was the nicest so far.

    Love's RV Stop-Cordele GA 801

    Cute RV stop

Check in through the Loves app or onsite Kiosk. We tried to call ahead and pay cash onsite. The cashiers worked it out but apparently they aren’t set up to take cash reservations. We checked in late at night, which was a plus for our flexible travel plans. The campground is separated from the truck stop by a fence. Fire pit at your site and a communal one that’s open until midnight. Splash pad, dog park, pickle ball court, and 2 pavilions with grills. It’s actually a really cute site to be attached to a truck stop! It’s walking distance to Loves for necessities. Site 2 is near the office/dog park. Pull through sites and back in. Nice and level on concrete.

Wanee Lake Golf & RV | Outdoor Adventure Retreats

    Nice Campground & Golf Course

The Campground (CG) was easy to find and check in was easy. We received a Passport America discount for our two night’s weekday stay. We proceeded to pull through site 10 with FHUs, picnic table, stand up barbecue, and fire pit. Wanee is a no frills CG though they do have a pool, showers, and laundry. The sites are mostly FHU pull throughs on dirt and grass. Water pressure was good. Our Bulldog surge protector didn’t like their 50 AMP so it kicked our power on and off when we ran heat pumps with other appliances. When we contacted the office, they said this occurrence is not uncommon and asked us to disconnect the surge protector as it can affect their grid as well. We got 4 bars on Verizon and a few OTA channels. The WiFi was about average for a CG this size. Their 9 hole golf course was enjoyable to play. The owners and work campers were super nice and we had an enjoyable two-day stay.

    Chehaw Park Campground

Fun Campground for a short stay

Campsites– some spots are spacious like the pull thru but it appears everyone shares one electrical box with a neighbor. Pull thru sites are nice packed gravel/clay and a lot of the back in sites are grassy. There are longer stays available here and some of the sites have that “little too comfortable” look. There is a military base in town, so I am sure this used by military and government workers at times. You will have to call and make your reservation. From past experiences- it is good to double check your reservation or have them email you/mail you your confirmation- check to make sure the site you are assigned has the hook up you are paying for and if you have to share an electrical box you need to find out if there are two 50 amps or if one user gets a 30 amp and the other gets a 50AMP.

There are a couple of cabins and there is also a tent/group camping area too.

Bathhouse- has a washers/ dryers in a screened in area. Bathroom facility is older but maintained. NOTE–> Only one Shower and one family shower

WIFI was only ok- we thought we would get better being so close to Albany. It was better with our boosters, and we used verizon jet packs with our sprint phones.

Activities- we always camp here when we participate in the annual Nut Roll biking event (30-100 mile options)

There is a small wild life park with animal exhibits(extra fee) , hiking trails, mountain biking trails, fantastic playground and water element for kids, BMX track, remote control car track, disc golf and kayaking/fishing just outside the park entrance. There is a more extensive review on our website about the activities.

    Fair Harbor RV Park

Private even though it's right off the interstate

Absolutely love Fair harbor! The staff is great, they have a little store that sells amenities and lots of basic camping gear. Have 24 hour laundry, multiple showers with amazing water pressure, and multi stall and private bath houses including handicap access. A private [stocked] lake that toured welcome to fish, without needing a license. They have lots of permanent campers here, who pay their lot rent and have their own electric meter. In a standard RV site all amenities are included, water hookup, sewer, electric with 110, 30 and 50 amp hookups, cable and wifi! As well as little cabins for rent. Also horse stables and storage if you stay longer!

    Roadhouse RV Park

    Electrical Safety Issues

Small campground with shade. Website indicated sites would accomodate up to 45 feet. Our site was not big enough for our 42 foot 5th wheel. The owner had us park crossways across two sites to fit and still had to remove a tree branch. The pedestal had two 30 Amp receptacles and a Y Joiner(park provided) to allow plugging in a 50 Amp plug. Gravel road through 15 site campground advertised as 45 sites. Limited amenities appeared in disrepair. Very nice and helpful owner.

SAFETY ISSUE: However, there were no circuit breakers in the electrical pedestal; the panel had open holes where breakers should have been, and the 30 amp plugs in the pedestal were broken exposing conductors of the plugs.

    Chehaw Park Campground

    Nice family park

We went camping at Chehaw Park July 13th – 15th of 2018. All the sites were grassy and pretty much level with picnic tables, really tall pine trees, 20/30/50 amp service, water and some with sewer. The Park as a whole is very nice, asphalt roads and parking lots, except for campground it has dirt/gravel roads, dirt bike track, R/C track, small water park and pavilions Call to reserve a site and make sure you get the gate code.

This is a good place to take the family.

Wanee Lake Golf & RV | Outdoor Adventure Retreats

    Big Improvements

Our GPS accurately brought us in from Montgomery, AL, to Wanee. This was our third time here, but the first time since the campground (CG) was bought by Outdoor Adventure Retreats. We had reserved a site in the new area that used to be the diving range. Check in was quick and we received a nice information package. We were then escorted to back-in site 41 with FHUs. As the new section had only been open for a month. We were told we’re probably the first to stay in this site. We did get some brown water when we first connected, but that cleared after running the water for a few minutes. The cement pad was plenty long enough for our 40’ 5th wheel, and there was plenty of gravel to park our F450. The utilities are centered on the pad, which was nice to be able to reach both sewer dumps. The water pressure was okay at about 40 psi. We got two bars on Verizon and a clear shot for Starlink. The CG has really good WiFi with a download speed of 52.2. We were here for a week to play golf, but due to cold weather we only got out a couple of times. Their golf packages with a cart are for a monthly stay, but the golf prices are still good and they offer a 10% military discount. Without golf, you can rent a golf cart for $20 per day. They have a bath house with laundry ($2 to wash and $2 to dry) with plans to expand. The old section still has the majority of the full-timers and transients. There’s a new fenced dog area. Not huge, but a decent size. Site 41 doesn’t have any close neighbors and is probably one of the best sites in the CG. You are near the first tee, and we enjoyed watching golfers tee off. There should be enough trees to stop a sliced ball from hitting your rig. We noticed that the old area’s permanent or transient residents’ sites were neat and orderly. The last two times we stayed here, that was not the case. Hopefully, this is new management’s doing, and they keep that practice going.
