Rainbow Campground's dedicated pet facilities allow dogs to roam a spacious exercise area near the swimming hole, setting it apart from other Pinetta-area parks. The campsite features electric hookups, water access, and designated dog-friendly areas where pets can accompany owners throughout most of the grounds. Lake Park Campground maintains a fully pet-friendly environment where dogs regularly receive enthusiastic welcomes from staff and fellow campers. The fenced pet areas keep dogs secure while allowing socialization with other camping companions. The pet waste stations throughout the grounds help maintain cleanliness. Both sites feature picnic tables, fire pits, and RV hookups alongside their pet accommodations. The best part for campers with dogs is the refreshing swimming access at Rainbow Campground.

Trails surrounding the campgrounds provide varied terrain for dog walking with both shaded wooded paths and open areas. Madison RV Resort offers a substantial two-acre fenced dog park with a separate section specifically for smaller breeds, allowing off-leash exercise in a controlled environment. Eagles Roost campground explicitly mentions that wildlife should neither be rescued nor disturbed by pets, with animal control contact information provided to campers. The highway proximity at several sites creates convenient access but generates traffic noise that might disturb sensitive pets, particularly during nighttime hours. Most campgrounds enforce leash policies outside designated off-leash areas, with typical requirements keeping dogs on leads no longer than 6 feet. Veterinary services are available in nearby Madison and Valdosta for emergency pet care needs.

      Perry KOA

      Another hurricane victim

Another KOA on our trip to circumnavigate Florida. Another KOA recovering from hurricane damage. But, they do have some things open: the rv sites are open, the dog park (a nice large dog park), the hot tub. They have propane and a limited store. There are also tent sites and cabins. Lots of large live oaks with Spanish moss survived the storm as well. It is about an hour from the Suwannee River State Park where you can see Manatees in the clear waters of the spring.

      River Park RV Park

      Visiting family

We chose this park because it was close to family we were visiting.

      Pros:

      Full hookups

      Laundry mat

      Showers

      Dog park

      Close to interstate

      Cons:

      Uneven sites

      Very close together

Tiny concrete pad, very little grass

No picnic table or fire ring

If you sit outside, your just looking at the side of the RV right next to you.

Lots of fulltimers with pretty rundown sites

Overly concerned about the grass while letting the rest of the park run down

Nothing worth getting pics of here

We will try a different park when we go back.

Madison RV Resort and Golf Course

      Enjoyable, quiet and well-kept

Very nice resort. We don’t golf (this was the closest place to our grandkids!) so I can’t speak about the golf course. The RV resort is wonderful! Friendly and polite staff and neighbors. Clean laundry and bathhouse. A large dog park. My only suggestion would be to divide the park into “little dogs, big dog” sections. Big rig friendly. We would most definitely recommend this resort!

      Suwannee River Rendezvous Resort

      Great river & springs access

First time here. Love it, will be back for sure. Great river/springs access. Great for kayaking/tubing or boating. Great dog areas. Food is good on the weekends, live music, very poor wifi. Spots by the dog park don’t have shade but most of the other sites do. Lots of fun activities. Great bike path just off property. Friendly staff. Site 212 was 50 amp only so I had to use a converter. Can rent kayaks on site if you don’t own one.

Palms & Pines Campground & RV Park

      Good Overnight Spot

Overnighted here on the way to FL Keys.  Pulled in way after hours.  Campground was easy to navigate.  Site was a pull through and very narrow but it worked for one night.

Bonus was a large dog park right across the street.

Golfing: Madison RV Resort and Golf Course includes a 9-hole course with your stay. "Our nightly rate was based on the monthly rate and included a golf cart and golfing on their well maintained 9 hole course," explains MickandKarla W.

    What campers like

Dog friendly campgrounds near Pinetta: Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park & Campground welcomes pets throughout its extensive property. What you should know

Highway noise: Most campgrounds near major roads experience traffic sounds. At Eagles Roost RV Resort, "Highway noise did not interfere with sleeping," according to Cheri, though others note the proximity. Sites further from I-75 generally offer quieter experiences.

Wildlife considerations: Many campgrounds have policies about interacting with local wildlife. "You're not to rescue or destroy any wildlife. They give you the # to animal control," explains Sara H. about Eagles Roost's unique policy, which helps maintain the natural ecosystem.

Seasonal crowds: During music festivals at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, the campground becomes significantly busier. "Very large unique campground...Most famous for their events & concerts," notes Kelly W., suggesting booking well ahead during event weekends.

    Tips for camping with families

Budget considerations: Some parks charge extra fees for children. At Jennings KOA, "The site for a Saturday night was $65 plus $10/per kid (adult price for two 19 year olds) so $85 ish," reports John G., suggesting families should factor this into their planning.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection: At Eagles Roost RV Resort, site choice matters for large rigs. "For overnight guests, I would recommend asking for sites up near the front of the park, as they appeared newer and more level, although less trees," advises Eleanor the Airstream R.

Connection placement: At Lake Park Campground (Suncoast), "Concrete pad was all the way forward on the site while connections were over midway back making it so we couldn't use both easily," notes Eleanor, suggesting RVers should ask about hookup placement when booking.

After-hours arrival: Several campgrounds accommodate late check-ins. At Madison RV Resort, "Easy check-in after hours, nice place on golf course. Easy to get around in 42 ft 5th wheel and nice spacing between pads," Jordan J. mentions, helpful for those traveling long distances.
