Love this bright cherry KOA!

I love KOA because they are consistent… And I have a membership that gives me a bit of a discount. I find they are a good value as a rule. This one was really a surprise for the area which did not look that special but the KOA was so bright and cheery and wonderful. We’ve enjoyed it. They had great pull through a dog park lots of amenities and a super great park.

What a Pleasant Surprise

I have camped at many KOA campgrounds, and periodically, I've come across a shining star. This is one of those times. The staff at check-in was terrific, friendly, and just loved what they were doing. The campsites are well-spaced. The facilities are clean. My site A9 was a back-in site, newly added, with a gravel base, perfectly level, full hookups, and 96 channels of crystal clear cable TV. The internet speed was over the top. I was there for two nights and even got to spend time at the local bluegrass festival.

Love this KOA

Such a fun time at the Forest Festival. Walked to it from the KOA. Didn’t use laundry but nice facilities and pool & hot-tub are clean and nice! Cute playground! Our site was my favorite yet! Cows and horses are on the property behind the KOA & come up to site 27! The site also has a swing and sunrise and sunsets are so beautiful across the pasture. The bench, table, fire ring at the site, is amazing! Staff is friendly and the store is stocked and cute. Mosquitos are bad so we had to use lots of bug spray.

Another hurricane victim

Another KOA on our trip to circumnavigate Florida. Another KOA recovering from hurricane damage. But, they do have some things open: the rv sites are open, the dog park (a nice large dog park), the hot tub. They have propane and a limited store. There are also tent sites and cabins. Lots of large live oaks with Spanish moss survived the storm as well. It is about an hour from the Suwannee River State Park where you can see Manatees in the clear waters of the spring.

Great stay

We used this as the base camp for the area.

Nice camp store/office. We bought wood & had a fire every night.

Bathrooms/showers are outstanding! Recently remodeled & very clean.

The road looks like it's been recently paved as well.

Nice pool/spa.

Our site was a full hookup pull through under large live oaks. It was KOA tight.

Only bad thing to say about it is it's a dirt site.  Very messy, even though we had an outdoor rug.

One interesting thing at this KOA is their doggie sites. They have 2 sites that have a penned in yard for your dogs. I think it's brilliant! Probably the wave of the future.

One of the Best KOA/Private Campgrounds We've Stayed

The campground(CG) was easy to find. Check-in was quick and very friendly and we headed to back-in site E-27 for our overnight stay. This premium site is probably one of the most spacious in the CG, especially on the utilities side, where a swing bench looks out to a huge field. There was a nice patio, furniture, and propane grill that unfortunately, due to the January cold weather snap, we did not get to use. There’s a large tree on this site, so satellite could be iffy, but they have cable TV, plus you get a good amount of OTA channels. The sites in this KOA are well-spaced in comparison to others we’ve stayed in the past. They have a nice camp store that even has a humidor with cigars. They also seem to be the town’s“go-to” place for propane fills. Water pressure was good at about 50 PSI, and we got 3 bars on Verizon. We were in the far back corner of the CG and had to carefully plan our departure to avoid tight turns and other campers departing to get to the exit. Perry has your major amenities. Get a site in the back area away from the road noise. As this was easily one of the best KOAs and private CGs we’ve stayed in, we would definitely come back.

Not bad not great

As we have been full-timing since August we see a big difference between KOA “Holidays.” We don’t plan too far ahead. This has not been a problem until we got to Florida this month. This KOA had availability so we booked it. The good:The staff is very nice. We asked to change sites and they did so no problem. The sites in the back are nice and well spaced between each site. The bad:The pool and spa had worms in them. They probably drop in from the trees but the staff needs to maybe do a better job vacuuming them out. There is also not a lot to do in the town of Perry but that is certainly not the fault of the KOA.

Tent campers beware

I stayed here while on a bicycle tour because there was no other choice nearby, and Perry FL is where I ended up that day. Unless you are in an RV, do NOT tent camp here. For 28 dollars I got a weed-covered, sandy little plot next to the highway with glaringly bright street lights overhead. The plot was so small I could hear the guy snoring in the tent next to mine, despite the blaring traffic noise. The only good things here were the friendly managers and the clean bathroom.

We stayed there in March for 4 days. We have family and every time one came to pick us up the guys on golf carts would say they need to sign in. Other than that the rest rooms were kinda run down. But the spacing between rigs was great. You could have a fire. And it’s close to perry so you can get to things quickly. Eat Casa Grande if your in town. Thanks
