A Stone's Throw RV Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Right off I-10 in Lamont, A Stone's Throw RV Park functions primarily as an overnight stop for travelers moving through north Florida. All sites are pull-through with full hookups, electric up to 50 amps, water, and sewer, which makes late arrivals straightforward. Reservations are available by phone, and past guests note the staff has been responsive and easy to work with. The Tallahassee East Campground sits about two miles west for those who want a comparison point along the same corridor.

The grounds feature shade trees and crushed asphalt pads, and marie describes the sites as "shade trees and very clean." Dog runs are on-site, and pets are welcome. WiFi is available, though signal strength drops the farther a site is from the office. There is only one restroom, and at least one reviewer found it understocked, so self-sufficiency helps.

Interstate noise is the most consistent trade-off here. The park sits close enough to I-10 that road sound carries, especially at night. It is a functional stop, not a destination. A next-door gas station provides basic access, though reviewers have noted it is limited on fuel and food options. For campers planning a longer stay in the region, places to camp near Monticello may offer more variety. If you are booking a one-night stay, calling ahead to confirm your reservation is worth the extra step.

Sketchy area

Only one restroom no toilet paper. Had a nice neighbor. Couldn’t find a shower house. Next door BP station was sketch worried about bongs. Not food or coffee or diesel.

Nice campground

My husband and I really enjoyed this campground. Pull thru with full hookups makes for stress free set up. We travel with 2 dogs so dog runs were a plus. Shade trees and very clean. The host was very easy going and friendly. We will stay again if in the area.

Great overnight

Terri was very easy to work with as we were a late, overnight arrival. Great little park for an overnight right off I-10. Easy access. Will definitely stop again!

A Great Overnight Location

This RV park is right off I-10 making it great for overnighters. All the sites are pull-through making late arrival less stressful. All sites have full hookups and there is wifi (much better the closer you are to the office). The park has a nice vib with mossy trees and well manicured grass. The sites are well packed crushed asphalt. Due to COVID-19 all contact with the staff was by phone but they were very polite and helpful. She even called me back to confirm the reservation after running my credit card. The only complaint is minor...traffic noise due to the close proximity to I-10. This is easly solved by leaving the HVAC fan on to mask the noise. We have stayed here twice and will definitely use this park when the need arises in the future.
