Great trails in the mountains of Florida. Campsites are narrow but long we had enough space to set our screen room up behind camper. Hurricane michael did extensive damage to the area. Trees and shrubs are growing back. Not much shrubbery between sites. Two super cool yurts for rent and a cabin. Campground is set above the ravine which makes for awesome sunsets. The trails can be accessed from campground. Most of the trails are pretty strenuous especially for Florida. Warning about copperhead snakes at this park so I would not take dogs on any of the trails.

Love camping at Torreya! The rangers are fantastic. Tour the Gregory House - it's worth the couple bucks! 130 ft bluffs and great view of the Apalachicola River. Hike the many trails - we loved the "Torreya Challenge" trail! Visit the stone bridge to. Lots of history here and lovely campground. The woods even still have lightning bugs! Clean Bathrooms. The Cracker Cabin is great as is the Yurt - both are booked often and must be reserved in advance. easy access to hookups. A "must see " spot in North Florida!

Elevated Florida with a view
During the week of 7/19/2020 I spent 2 nights at this unique state park. After settling in I found the view out of my back dinette windows to be unlike any I had ever seen in Florida. Futher exploration found even better views from the bluff over the Apalachicola River and wooded expanses. Just keep an eye open for bears and snakes as this is true Florida wilderness.

Older reviews here were for Arrowhead Campground. New name and new management (or ownership?) We spent the first 3 nights of our Florida trip here (February 2020). Kids enjoyed the pool (polar plunge), the basketball hoop and the docks at the pond. Bathroom is nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. They are making improvements. Convenient to Florida Caverns while the park's campground is closed. We also visited Bellamy Bridge.

A Florida State Park that reminds us of the foothills of North Carolina except for the occasional palm tree. Toured the Gregory House a cotton plantation house that was moved across the river by the CCC. We made a trip into Chattahoochee, FL for lunch and a look at the Jim Woodruff Dam where The Chattahoochee, Apalachicola and Flint Rivers converge.

This is another example of why I just love our state parks here in Florida. Campground is set up on the river. Great small boat and kayak access right at the campgrounds. Lots of great trails for hiking. Sites are a little closer then most SPs I have visited but for the price of this one at 16 a night we will totally be back.

Nice spot in a quiet part of Florida's panhandle
Torreya State Park is tucked away by itself and has a smaller campground at only 29 sites, and it's part of what makes it a great place to get away.
Small and remote means peace and quiet. The sites aren't very private, but there aren't many and folks seem to keep to themselves.
The bathrooms are small but decent and well-maintained, and there are 30-amp electric and water on each site. Another nice feature is a very clean laundry area. It only has one washer and dryer, but the campground is small enough that doesn't seem to be a problem.
Nearby trails, some accessible right from the campground, also make this a good spot to use as a basecamp if you want to get out and explore some of Florida's natural beauty. Also, Gregory House is an 1850s plantation home that you can visit for a guided tour and is within walking distance of the campground.

Quiet No Frills Camping with Lake Views
Visited new years eve weekend and the campground was relatively quiet. The vault toilet was well stocked with toilet paper and kept clean, but there was some trash around the campground. The dock on the lake is nice and there were several people fishing. Good location for hunting the surrounding WMAs. The 3 star review is primarily due to the camping spots marked in cross ties are narrow and some spots are difficult to get a larger camper in. I would visit again.

Quiet & Beautiful
4 stars for no water or electric hookups.. Also I don't do spiders and they are all over the place here.. And HUUUUGEEE at that. Fishing dock is nice and you can see lots of gators. I don't recommend swimming in the water, its pretty murky. Nice and shady spots and you can reserve ahead of time. Typically empty. We stayed a whole week and afew people came in and out to fish and tent camp. Stayed to ourselves.

A nice quiet campground (on weeknight) not far from the interstate, was quite pretty for a morning walk. Lake and fishing pier makes it a more enjoyable stop compared to many FL campgrounds.

For a 26" tt the spot was just enough, a little rough to back into. Entirely worth it. If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet place this is it. Be sure to fill your water before arrival as there is no spigot. Full primitive. The vault toilet is pretty gnarly. Still a lovely place to stay. Bring your fishing pole

Great spot on Lake Talquin
Small campsites but it's a small campground. Picnic table and fire ring at each site. 2 out house style restrooms. Cleaned weekly. Took a long dirt road to get back to campground and got lost 1st time going in. Have stayed there twice since I have family living in Tallahassee. Once in spring and once in fall. Found tics on me both times so beware. Chiggers got on me too. That's just camping in the woods. Will definitely be making future trips back.

Super quiet and lonely
You have to love the lonelyness here. On the weekend there have been three other parties with tents. From Sunday to Monday we have been the only ones. Then it becomes really lonely, dark and quiet out here. Some fishermen are using the fishing pier or the boat ramp at the end of the campground. The campground itself was clean and well maintained. (We did not use the toilet house. And did not check that.) No power, no water, no WiFi, no store. T-Mobile was very good with 300+ Mbps. The last 3 miles are dirt road, but in good condition as long as you can stay in the middle without traffic. Our lot #5 was pretty even. Overall definitely a recommendation if you like the quiet nature and lonelyness.

Quiet and peaceful, if no one is there.
Mixed feelings about this campground. It has too many sites too close together, but if few people are there it is peaceful. We stayed on a weeknight. Several people used the boat ramp, but only one other camper. So the night was quiet. I could see how it could be well used for day picnics and fishing and could become quite noisy. The boat ramp is separated from the camp a bit, and it was not noisy.
Not much view of lake from sites, but the lake is pretty from the fishing pier and boat launch. A bit of trash in some sites but not too bad. I'm guessing someone does not come and check on this site every day. We were in a van and did not try the pit toilets.
It is about 3 miles from the main road, one mile of speed bumps, two of dirt, but it is level and well packed.

No complaints about this site; plenty of campsites to pick from even with about 6 other campers; space to spread out from others. Good for primitive tent camping. Had a fire pit with grill and picnic table. Right on the lake with pier access and boat ramp- pretty cool spot. Only lost a star because of previous campers leaving some trash behind.

Biggest Gator I've Seen Yet!
Was able to reserve this spot day of as I was heading into Tallahassee.
Reminded me of campsites in my western mountains and was nice to camp on a soft bed of leaves and pine needles.
Caught a beautiful sunset over the lake and saw a massive gator hanging out by the fishing pier.
The gator was back in the morning as I was enjoying my cup of coffee out on the pier!
Sites were simple and no utilities exist here. There is a pit toilet though!

Goat House Farm
Such fun!
We had such a fun time camping at the goat farm. Where you literally camp with goats. The male goats hang out right beside you and your tents. (Be sure to keep your tents closed or they will sleep with you too, ha!) The kids absolutely loved it. They cried when it was time to leave and told all the animals bye. The staff is so friendly and helpful. We would love to go and stay there again!

I stayed with a larger group and we all had an amazing time. The owner of the farm was so welcoming and accommodating. She even gave us a tour of the farm in the morning and we were able to play with a ton of goats and chickens! It was such a great experience with genuinely kind people.

Another reviewer got it right-HOSPITALITY. We rolled in after hours but still were welcomed SO WELL by the owner & given a color print-out map with our receipt/etc. He helped us park & answered our many questions about the flora & fauna. Where we're from magnolia is a sort of decorative shrub- here they stand over 60' tall. Yes,, there are 'tree snakes'. Walk "firmly" to let snakes know you're coming, as its the startled ones that strike. Starting from a field near the barns there's a path leading to a small waterfall by a rise that may be an Native American burial mound. Flat Creek is nice, and clearly on its way to so e improvements also. Map I photographed shows length of today's spaces. Fortunately for us in spot 16,# 21 was open, so the pulling-through was just that. Pads are asphaltish- gravel… we needed to do some slight leveling. We really liked it here! Oh, and its across the way from a fun something we'd read about on the Atlas Obscura - the deadly fast, now illegal sport of Jai-Alai was once played and (bet upon) there.

Very nice and clean. Tent area has about 6 sites in a circle around a covered area giving each site shade, shelf, a light, electric and water. Sites have picnic table and fire ring. 6 private shower stalls, clean bathrooms, a clean pool, small playground and store. We have stayed here a few times in the tent area but they also have Rv sites and cabins.

The now Flat Creek Family Campground is a true gem!!
We stayed here in December of 2021 for a couple weeks and were so glad we did. The owners and work staff are absolutely wonderful and very attentive. The office complex with laundry, showers, and bathrooms is very well kept up. The store is very well supplied (including chocolate for my wife!!). We were privileged to be a part of their 1st Christmas dinner gathering in the nice rally room they have and were so glad we could be a part of it. The campground is easy access off I-10 and worth the stop in... hope we will be able to stop by again some time.

Highly Recommend
Super friendly staff, very inviting place with pool, campfires, picnic benches at every site, super clean family friendly bathrooms and showers. It was Easter Sunday when we were there and they invited all children for egg hunting and after egg hunting they did raffle (at no cost) and let kids pick prizes (all prizes were related to outdoor toys or camping related like glow sticks) my oldest son won a grand prize (fishing rod) for collecting most eggs. Basic store inside the office for milk, eggs, and rv related stuff. Clean Laundry room at site. Nice wooded area to roam around, bike, collect woods 🪵for campfire. All sites are not paved but we enjoyed our weekly stay at very reasonable price of $175/week or $500/month. Highly recommend to anyone.
