Best RV Parks & Resorts near Havana, FL

Several RV parks surround Havana with Tallahassee RV Park offering full hookups and pull-through sites on level gravel pads. Sites accommodate big rigs with 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. "Very pretty RV park. Level gravel sites and roads. WiFi, cable, full hookups. Lots of trees and shade," noted one visitor. Big Oak RV Park in Tallahassee provides similar amenities with sites that can accommodate larger motorhomes, though spacing between RVs is tight. Ed and Bernice's Fish Camp and RV Park has 15 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp hookups available, situated near water access for fishing enthusiasts.

Seasonal considerations affect availability throughout the year. During Florida State University football weekends, rates at Tallahassee RV Park can double with prices reaching $90 per night. Most parks maintain clean restroom facilities with individual shower units, and laundry services are available at select locations. Cell service is generally reliable throughout the region. A recent review noted, "We stayed nine days in Campsite 39, a gravel pull through with more than enough room for our 27' truck camper and jeep tow vehicle." Pet-friendly policies exist at most parks, though some have designated areas for dog walking. RV parks near main highways provide convenient overnight stops for travelers passing through the Florida Panhandle.

    River Junction - Lake Seminole

    Awesome surprise!

What an awesome surprise! COE campground on a dead end road (ends at the boat ramp) with water and power. Dump is just up the road on your way out of the park and super easy to get to. Level sites, nicely spaced and mostly shaded. I bet it’s even more beautiful in the spring and fall. Picnic table, fire pit, grill and a fish station at all sites. Walking distance to boat ramp and lake access. Pet friendly. Road in was paved and well maintained. First come first served and although there is a camp host on site there is no way to call to check availability. $20/night ($10/night senior citizen or Access Pass).

We needed a one night stop & this was perfect. Made our reservations online the day before. Host called me the next morning to confirm arrival time. Hosts were very kind, and escorted us to our site. Site was big, level, and pull through with full hookups. Long term rigs were kept pretty clean as I could tell. We didn’t use any facilities so have no comment on those.

    Three Rivers State Park Campground

    A Great Florida State Park

Small, well maintained park and sites, with 30/50 amp and water hook ups. A pleasant surprise when we arrived, after miles of rural driving! GPS took us the correct way, but seemed we were lost! Staff greeted us at entrance, gave us a map and explained how to get to our site. It was raining, and our site was back-in and downhill, mostly level with gravel, a picnic table, has a fire-ring with grill grate. Bathhouse is clean and impressed how the trash area and dump station were placed away from campers. The dock/pier, and boat ramp, are at the back part of the campground, The amenities are nice and there is outdoor cleaning sink behind the bathhouse, sitting area overlooking the river, the fish cleaning station, fire pit area, trails, and canoe/kayak drying area. 3 concrete sites, as well as tent sites. Lots of spacing between most of the sites, some are waterfront. Wildlife is plentiful and the trails are a great way to enjoy it all! We will come back! And it’s only $20 a night!

    Florida Caverns RV Resort

    Nice Stay

We stayed here for two nights/three days of a ten day trip. It was hands-down the nicest of the locations. Clean, concrete pads, excellent location and good wi-fi that was not up-charged. The pool area was nice and clean. Service and staff were excellent/friendly and they escorted us to our site upon arrival. They also have trash pickup at your site daily. We saw a security truck drive through several times and had no problems from our neighbors. The location near the water cannot be beat. We were located near the docks and I was able to launch my paddle board easily. The water was gorgeous and clear on the adjacent spring/pond. Our AT&T cell service was good.

My only(very minor) complaints are that there are very few trees or shaded areas at this location and it would have been nice to have the fire pits included at the site. We did not spend any time sitting outside our camper and we only did about ten minutes in the dog park because of the sun, but then again, it's Florida in July in an area that's still recovering from tornadoes and a major hurricane. And by the time we thought it had cooled off enough to enjoy s'mores in the evening, the office had long since closed so we couldn't rent a fire pit. We have family that we visit often in the area, so we will definitely stay here again! We camped at Florida Caverns RV Resort at Merritt's Mill Pond in a Travel Trailer.

    Tallahassee RV Park

    Very Nice RV Park

We stayed nine days in Campsite 39, a gravel pull through with more than enough room for our 27' truck camper and jeep tow vehicle. We used 30 amp power and it was steady. The power, sewer and water connections were conveniently located. We were impressed by the cleanliness of this RV park; there are many pine trees and the staff worked hard to keep the sites and roads neat and raked. The laundry is reasonable at$2 wash and$1.50 dry and all the machines were clean and worked properly. We did not use the pool, restrooms or showers but they were all clean and in good condition. A Walmart Supercenter, Publix Market, Costco and Bass Pro are 4 miles away. Wakulla Springs State Park is 23 miles away and worth a visit. We enjoyed our time here and will stay again.

Guide to Havana

RV parks near Havana, Florida provide convenient access to water recreation along the Ochlockonee River, which flows south through the region. The area maintains average summer temperatures around 90°F with high humidity levels typical of the Florida Panhandle. Campsites near Havana often feature shaded lots under mature oak trees that help moderate the summer heat.

What to do

River activities: The Ochlockonee River offers excellent fishing and kayaking opportunities at Ed and Bernices Fish Camp and RV Park. "I had fun kayaking down the river. Caught stripped bass and smoked them, they were delicious. Sights were spectacular," notes one visitor who enjoyed the river access.

Wildlife viewing: Campers can spot local wildlife including river otters, turtles, and various bird species. "We kayaked and loved and I mean absolutely love being on this river. Did some swimming and fishing off the side. Caught some huge brim, they were delicious," shares a camper who experienced the diverse ecosystem.

Visit Florida State University: Located approximately 20 miles from Havana, FSU's campus offers cultural attractions and sporting events. As noted at Tallahassee RV Park, "We camp there for FSU events (I.e. enrollments, visiting and graduation). Clean, orderly, reasonably priced, close to shopping, gas stations, and the FSU campus!"

What campers like

Covered camping spaces: Unique pavilion structures at some parks provide shade and rain protection. "We stayed on the river had our own pavilion with picnic table electric water great lighting and plenty of room from the next camper," explains one visitor to Ed and Bernices Fish Camp.

Community atmosphere: Many campers appreciate the welcoming environment found at smaller parks. "The staff here is so kind and helpful. The others here have great knowledge about the area and we got some tips on what kinds of fish to catch," reports a visitor who enjoyed the social aspects of camping in the area.

Clean facilities: Well-maintained bathrooms and common areas receive positive mentions at River Landing RV Park. "RiverLanding is the cleanest, friendliest, and most beautiful park. Nestled along the banks of the Apalachicola River, it is just a beautiful site to see."

What you should know

Price fluctuations: Rates at some parks vary significantly throughout the year. "Was about double the nightly rate ($90!!!!!) due to a FSU football game over the weekend but the place was only about 25% of capacity. Maybe because of crazy mark up policy," warns one camper about event pricing.

Cash-only policies: Some smaller operations require cash payment. "Felt $35 (cash only) was too high for value. No sewer at our site but we were able to dump on way out," mentions a reviewer about their payment experience at Ed and Bernices.

Highway noise: Parks located near main roads may experience traffic sounds. At Big Oak RV Park, "She said she only had one other open, site 44 which is by the road. It is a very busy road with lots of noise, but it was better than being by the dumpster and I wanted to be near town."

Tips for camping with families

Riverbank activities: Children enjoy exploring the shallow areas of local rivers. "Could not keep the kids from playing by the water they scooped up minnows and found crawdads. Was great to watch," shares a parent who camped at Panacea RV Park.

Pool access: Some RV parks feature swimming pools as alternatives to river swimming. "There is a small pool that is open mostly all the time. Very friendly people," notes a long-term camper at Panacea RV Park.

Recreation amenities: Look for parks with additional family features. "They have a pool, playground, and a clubhouse. We used our starlink with no problem," mentions a visitor to Tallahassee RV Park, highlighting family-friendly amenities.

Tips from RVers

Level sites: Many RV parks in the Havana area offer well-maintained, level sites. At Stay n Go RV Resort, "Level concrete FHU pull-throughs. Bare bones with no other facilities (restrooms, showers, pool, playground or dog park). Really designed just for an overnight."

Site selection: Request specific sites based on your preferences and RV size. "We stayed nine days in a gravel pull through with more than enough room for our 27' truck camper and jeep tow vehicle," shares a visitor who found adequate space for their setup.

Easy access: Some parks offer convenient highway access for overnight stays. "New convenient campground right off I-10. Level concrete FHU pull-throughs," notes a reviewer about Stay n Go RV Resort, which provides quick access for travelers passing through the region.
