Great for small families

One of the best little places to get your youngins out into nature for the first time... It's small but has everything that a campground should have. Nice pier to fish off of, little nature trail, and a boat launch. And to top it all off it was cheap! A little small for my taste but over all a very nice place .

Decent!

The tent sites are a little small but most of them are shady and secluded with lots of trees and shrubs between! Good bathroom and shower, and lots of trails to explore, leading to a boat ramp and playground

Donald mcdonald

We had an awesome stay. Very quiet and relaxed. Wasn't much for hiking trails though and the camp groundsman kept finding reasons to come on to our camp and conversate for far to long. Friendly but to much so.

Hidden gen

Giving 3 stars for now. I read a review in this and is at my backdoor. Never new about this place. Hiking trails, boat ramp, fishing, on the Sebastian Waterway. There are 30 sites that are for tent or a small pop up. Sites are large include a concrete picnic table and fire ring. There are several locations to get water from. Bathhouse is for camping guest only and you need a combo code to get in. There are 4 sites that are for Rv’s that have water hookup and 30amp service. This is a first come first serve campground. Reservations are not taken. Tent camping you would be fine the Rv sites I think on weekends you would be out of luck. Today on a Tuesday there was 2 taken and all the 30 other tent/pop up were available. Close to a lot of shopping. Plenty of wildlife and plants to discover.

Beautiful, private escape into nature.

I spent very little time at the campgrounds but felt compelled to write a review because I felt like this was such a hidden gem! Granted- I went during a bad time weather-wise. Hot, humid, and full of bugs but those aren’t things the campground can help. If you’re going during the summer months, bring loads of bug spray. I’ll preface this review by saying that I don’t like the ‘Disneyland of campgrounds’ places. We just came from Boyd’s campground in the keys and as nice as the facilities are, I like to camp to get dirty and feel like I’m in nature. Macdonald campground is perfect for the minimalist who wants nice privacy and a pretty environment. Easy online reservation but don’t forget to check for the bathroom code when you pay online!
