Managed by the Bureau of Land Management within Curecanti National Recreation Area, Gateview Campground sits near the lake on walk-in access only, which means gear hauling is part of the deal before campers settle in. The access road is rough, so high-clearance vehicles are advisable. No pets are permitted. Facilities are limited to toilets, and the season runs May through mid-October. Those scouting places to camp near BLM Land — Gunnison Field Office will find this one among the more remote, access-restricted options in the region. Nearby, Red Bridge Campground sits 4.4 miles south for comparison.
