Jacob Lake Campground

Comfortable campground with pea gravel sites. Level, lots of trees. 7900 ft gets you out of the desert heat. Just 45 minutes outside Grand Canyon north rim entrance. Vault toilets, firewood for sale. Fuel, restaurant lodge and general store within walking distance. My site was close to the highway but the traffic sound was not too bad.

Beach, Bluff, Forest... you choose

This spectacular campground has it all. Beach access and beach camping. Bluff camping overlooking the Pacific. I choose a spot higher up the creek in the tall pines a short hike away from Limekiln falls. Check out the ruins that give the park its name.

High in the Sky

This campground sits above 9000 ft and you can drive there, park your car next to your site. It is a great basecamp for day hikes up into to higher altitude. There are multiple lakes a short hike away and waterfalls on 3 sides, its a beautiful place with peaks souring towards 14,000 ft.

Caspers Wilderness Park

Lovely campground in the Orange County foothills. Great hiking and equestrian trails. Excellent equestrian camping with a private corral right next to each campsite in the equestrian area.

Room for large rigs and good space for tents with flat pads.

Camping in aspens

This is a great little campground the hosts were super friendly and helpful. The site was level and had a great flat slab, table and fire pit. This campground is very well maintained. The only downside is some traffic noise from Hwy 40. Nice clean restrooms but be aware they don’t have lights.

Camp by the lake

This campground have good and bad sites. Up top above loop D is forested and very nice. While below most of the sites are in the open with no shade or trees. Elk visited day and night.

In the heat of the day when I just wanted to hang out I took my hammock and road over to the day use area at Gull Point and hung out there til it cooled off.

Beautifully forested large campground

The campground is large and very well maintained. Excellent restrooms, clean water, close the Canyon facilities.

Mesa Verde

This is a beautiful and special place. Plan to stay a while so you can take it all in.

The campground is large, mostly flat. Limited trees where I was and unable to use hammock but other sites vary. Nice facilities at top of campground but too far to walk IMO for a shower so drive up.

Camp in a sequoia grove

This place is amazing. Camping under giant sequoias is special.

The site was very good with flat space, table and fire pit. Multiple options for tent location. Excellent restrooms, super clean.

Crowded but cozy

This place was packed. The site had a table and fire pit. Enough flat spot to put my little tent. Most everyone here had RVs and there are Yurts interspersed throughout the campground. Restrooms were large and clean.

Beautiful campground by the sea

Excellent beach access, nice flat sites. Watch the videos, words can’t express the beauty here.

It may be gone now

I rolled into this campground and it was vacant. Likely closed? Nice and flat under a canopy of pine. I tried to pay online but was unable to, there was no drop box. The restrooms were locked up. Regardless we set up camp. There was a fire pit but did not use it. Left at 7am and never saw a ranger.

Nice little campground by a lake

Small campground only about 10 sites. Nice clean restrooms with flush toilets. Perched on the side of a hill with limited flat space. Tight loop, not good for larger rigs. It was fun seeing free range cattle roam through in the evening.
