We stayed alongside the creek and enjoyed dining one night at the local restaurant. Highly recommend this campground

Up, up, up

For reasons I can't fully explain, Laguna Seca is my favorite campground ever. It's a deep dive into Oak Chaparral and . . . race cars. Expect high winds, revving motors, and ticks. There is no drinking water up there at the moment but there are showers and restrooms. If you are riding your bike,…

Redneck Heaven

Pistol shooting during the day, fireworks at night & race car driving (road course) all day.

No potable water, only electricity & dump. Site dirty, so we cleaned it. Pretty mountain scenery. Great mountain biking & hiking. 20-30 minute access to Monterey Peninsula.

Mesmerizing drive up

I was able to only reserve one night about two weeks prior to my stay. On my way out I asked if they take walk ins and they do at $ 35. If we wanted to we would have been able to stay a second night, but we ended up driving North. We saw three deer, river, trees that have been there for several…

Great place and not far away from the tourist spots.

Great place for only $40 a night. It has all the essentials for your stay. First come, first served. Very clean showers and restrooms! Showers are included in the price. No need to buy annoying tokens. (You can also shower for $3 if you aren’t staying over night). This campsite is located in the…

Big Sur Paradise

We absolutely love this campground!!! The grounds are well kept and the store has just about everything you could need. Sites are decently spread apart and all have fire pits. There is no signal and super spotty wifi but that's the joy of camping here- being totally unplugged. ☺ Cross the river by…

Good for the skys

Easy walk from the parking area with intermittent views of the river. A few stairs but mostly flat. The river along the camp site was dry due to the time of year. Most sites are very exposed, I would bring extra shade for your site if you'll be here in the summer. But a great view of the sky and…

Beautiful but crowded

This is an amazing campground on the big sur river. The Rangers do a pretty good job keeping the place up. Fishing is not allowed in the river but not practical anyway because people are swimming in it all the time. I'm a single guy with a truck camper. This is a great spot for families.

Gorgeous place, bit pricey

Really beautiful spot. Make sure to note when bathrooms close because some close at 8pm but others are open all night. The ones nearest to the front gate are open all night

If you’re not sure, ask!

After traveling up the central coast, I was looking for a campground for the night. All the ones I wanted were full. Found this place but literature I read said that they will take first come first served up to until 6pm. Decided to drive by and see about 7pm. No real directions at the entrance but…

Big Sur perfection

The only difficulty here is obtaining reservations- be patient and vigilant. A couple of folks wandered into our site looking for a different view of Mc Way falls, but we were otherwise alone. In the event you are unable to reserve, check nearby parks. The view is stunning, the sounds are stunning,…
