Trailers iffy, definitely not all sites work for more than a tent!

There might be one or two sites that work for trailers but we gave up when trying to level 8 inches. Road up is nominally two lanes- (more like 1-1.5) combined with the limited sight distance it means you should drive slower than the speed limit.

If you are car camping or on a small RV this is a great place, once you make it up the last 11 miles!

Camping in the clouds

Pretty & windy drive. No visitor center but rangers drove by once. It very lightly rained but mostly the air was misty, & the fog got more dense as the night went on. The picnic table benches got wet so come prepared. By the morning the thick fog cleared, revealing a nice view.

Our site was right next to a trail but we were the only ones there that night so no issues. Didn’t get to try a trail this time. Picnic table, fire pit, & nearby water, trash can, & bathroom. Saw quails, a mouse, & a bobcat? Had a great time!

Top of the World!

Nice campground, not very big. Beautiful views of Salinas Valley and San Juan Bautista. Great star gazing too!
