Nice but a little pricey

Very large, clean, well maintained campground. Sites range from tent camping to RV water and electric only to full hookups. It's centrally located halfway between Gurneville and Bodega Bay. Great place as a base for days at the beach, hiking at Armstrong Woods, or fishing.

Be Aware

BE AWARE! This was my second time at Casini Ranch. There has been some changes I wasn’t aware of. I thought it was strange when I booked my site, you then have an option for an additional$30 in order to hold that site or you can be moved pending on their need. Second, if you have people visiting and it’s after 6pm( I believe, could be 8) it is$22.50 per person. Not per vehicle. I was having friends over to my camp site for dinner and they arrived to find out it was going to cost them$50 just for a couple of hours. I had a heated conversation with the staff, because it was just so unreasonable. Even after I had apologized for my language due to frustration, I was evicted. They did refund me for my last day. Which is odd, they lost not only$50 because we refused to be trapped. They also lost$75 for my refund. They also have lost a lot more because I won’t ever go back, and I will share my story. My motivation to leave this review is to educate the RV/Camping family. Safe travels

Great family camping

Campsites are decently spaced for the type of campground. Awesome river access, and a short drive to restaurants or the beach. Clean bathrooms and a ton of amenities. The dog parks were clutch, since my dog needs to run. Had some neighbors who were really loud really late and Casini staff were all over it. Beautiful area not far from the bay

Family oriented campground

Spent 4 days here with my 2 kids (6&8), and had a good time. The campground is a good size, and they really pack them in there. Some spots aren't worth the price they're asking, but some are (questionable). Be sure to do your research using their website and looking at the photos of the campground. Lots of activities for the kids (ice cream social, hay ride, parks, etc).

I don't think I'll return due to the nature of the park, but that's only because I like more secluded camping.

One of the best family campgrounds

Stayed here for a few days and I have to say probably the best family campground around! The sites were super clean the staff were awesome! Lots of activities for the family. The River area is nice. A few Rental activities for the River. Also has a store that pretty much has everything you’ll need. Pretty much everything was well maintained. Definitely camping here again.

Our go to camp ground

You are not roughing it here. Stayed many times over Covid and loved it. I have stayed in premium sites and in full hook up sites. Premiums are my favorites. They only have power and water but they are more isolated in the trees rather than a long row of RVs. All sites have cable TV and good Rudy from my experience. Fire puts when allowed by California. Russian River gets surprisingly warm during the summer.

Nice Family Campground

Very large campground with lots of amenities within. There is a small store with the basic essentials, a play area for young kids and of course the main attraction which is an access to the river. There is a kayak rental by the beach area. The scenery along the river is nice. Tent area are okay. There are some with more privacy than the others. We could actually hear the conversations of our neighbors during our stay. The RV site looked more crowded when we were there. They looked like they were in a festival. One area looked very tight but some sites looked dispersed. The only con we had was the restrooms were very scarce for the size of the campground. We had to walk so far to get to the restroom.

Pick Your Site Well!

This is a haven for RV's and some sites are clearly meant for them.  They can be sparse and open and right next to each other.  But I am a tent camper so I look for those that have trees and coverage to get a sense of privacy.  The virtue of Casini's is that it has some of the best direct access to the Russian River.  That can be for fishing. canoeing, kayaking, or swimming - you name it.  And if you pick your site right you have a great tent camping site.

ALso they have some great group tent sites if you want to go with friends.

With the store there if you forgot anything you are good.

Stayed here 15 July 2020, great spot, very clean bathrooms and friendly staff. Everything went very smoothly, beautiful spot by the river.

Nice, easy, family friendly...

The campgrounds are all on top of eachother by beach. We waited behind a dozen cars to check in, was not bad. But when we went to spot, another car there so back to the clerk we went... I didn’t want to wait 4 hours while they found the owner so landed at spot 24. It was nice and accommodating of them. Not too far from bathrooms, and a water spigot that no one used...by far the biggest tent spot and the only one riverside with shade in the afternoon. It was barely shade... but if you pull your tent alongside and not in the poison oak, it’s ok. The River is nice, ok beach with rocks but fun all in all. The store is great for last minute things and you can tell they try to keep it clean... bathroom were super clean and then trashed at night... all in all it was fine. Lots of families and dogs. Good little walks and the stars are great. In the dirt row of tent spots, it was a little too much like a festival when the sun goes down...

Fantastic family fun

Gorgeous area, some tent spots are secluded. RVs are squeezed in tight but we stayed with a group so that didn’t matter. So much fun on the river. And a noticeable lack of flies and bees. Can’t wait to visit again.

Lots of Dirt

Campground is in a beautiful location, large campground, lots of activities for kids, right on the Russian River. Friendly Staff. The entire campground is dirt !!! Sites were dirt !!! Looks like at one time years ago there might have been gravel. It rained one morning and the entire campground was mud. It was awful. Sites are close together and dirt !!! We will never camp here again only because of the lack of gravel or concrete pads.

Family Campground

Very popular campground for families and families with dogs. In the summer months it seems to be very busy. They have a lot of activities for the kids. Most sites are close to each other which makes for early mornings/late nights.

Family, friends, dogs and camping... How could it be better?

A few friends and I recently spent 4 days camping at this beautiful ranch right outside of Duncan Mills and absolutely loved our stay. We spent much time swimming in the river, playing on the basketball court and hanging out at camp. The site was extremely clean and well set up, the staff was friendly and helpful and the natural beauty that surrounds the area was more than exceptional. Not to mention, there are a few places just outside of the ranch that has great food and live music, definitely worth checking out!

My only complaint would be regarding the lack of wifi. I suppose it's nice to get away from it all, it truly is, but I needed to respond to a few work emails as well as calls and the wifi/reception was nowhere to be found. Again, I'm not truly complaining about this but it's worth noting for those that may have business to handle while taking a getaway.

Cheers!

Relax on the river

Casini Ranch is a great campground, right off the river. You can kayak down the river and the campgrounds have a big variety of sizes, some on and off the river.

Large, many amenities, right on river

This privately owned campground has a fully stocked store, showers, and even a movie room. The campsites closer to the river all feel pretty private due to lots of vegetation separating each space—like thick walls of green. Be aware that a lot of this vegetation is poison oak, but they keep it trimmed back!

We had a spot that looked out at the river. It was beautiful. More exposed/ not as shaded as other spots, so I’m glad it wasn’t a hot weekend. Since it wasn’t hot, there weren’t as many folks accessing the river, so it stayed pretty peaceful. Could imagine it getting busy during peak summer weather.

Watched osprey and herons fly by, and even saw a river otter!

I would certainly return.
