Sonoma Coast Sb

If you get one of the sites that open up to the beach you have scored. (good for RV and tents).  Reserve early as this place is known and often full.  While they can be windy they have tried to enclose the sites with trees. But you are literally looking out over the ocean.  This is not a swimming beach. It is much too dangerous surf wise.  But great walking beach and at low tide can walk quite a ways.  Some tidepools and caves to explore. And there are great rocks - if you like rocks this a great place to find beautiful colors in the rocky sand.

Sites have tables, fire ring and usually a host with wood. Bathrooms are adequate but shared with day use folks so can be dirty.

Beautiful area but spots fill up quickly I highly recommended making a reservation. We were lucky get a great spot mid week due to someone canceling. Camp host is very nice and bathrooms are very clean but no showers.

We stayed at Wright's Beach which is part of the Sonoma SB Campground. It's a relatively small campground with part of it dedicated to RVs (super close to the beach). The individual sites are quite small, all have a picnic table and a fire ring but are nothing special. The location is fantastic though. Almost right on the beach, you can hear the Ocean and walk to the beach with your morning cup of coffee before it gets cold.

A great place to escape the summer heat - it's often overcast and a lot cooler on the coast. Bring layers! The sites book up well in advance, but you might get lucky with a mid-week reservation.
