Colorado River access makes Mayflower Park a hub for water-based recreation, with fishing, kayaking, and swimming drawing visitors to this Riverside County campground. The park sits alongside the river with separate areas for RV and tent camping, accommodating rigs up to 40 feet with full hookups available.
Campers consistently note the clean facilities and well-maintained grounds. The restrooms and showers receive regular praise from visitors, while the grassy campsites provide level parking areas. Day-use picnic spots sit between the camping areas and river access, though this arrangement can create some overlap during busy periods. David P. observed that "there are day use picnic spots between the campsites and the river which was unique."
The dry camping sites position closest to the water, while RV sites with utilities occupy a separate section. Staff members receive frequent mentions for their helpful approach to check-in and park information. Wildlife viewing opportunities include sandhill cranes during morning hours and various bird species throughout the day.
Reservations help secure preferred sites, especially those with river proximity. The park operates year-round with rates ranging from $30-50 per night, and nearby Hidden Beaches River Resort, Inc. provides additional camping options less than a mile away.
