West of the Colorado River near Ehrenberg, The Sandbowl Dispersed sits on Bureau of Land Management property accessed via Cibola Road. This free camping area features extremely soft sand roads that require four-wheel drive vehicles to navigate safely. Two-wheel drive vehicles risk getting stuck before reaching the actual camping zones.
The site functions primarily as an off-highway vehicle recreation area rather than a traditional campground. Campers can bring pets and build campfires, with cell service available in the area. The sandy terrain and OHV focus make this location better suited for adventure vehicle camping than standard RV or tent setups. Flying J Travel Center — Ehrenberg provides a more accessible alternative just north of the area.
