Good Experience

Stayed the week before Thanksgiving/ mild weather. Mid week so not crowded. Reserved ahead in campground near next to the river. There are day use picnic spots between the campsites and the river which was unique. Since there was only one other camper in that section and and day users it was no problem. On a crowded weekend it could get weird. The views of the river and the mountains in the distance were so nice. Staff was super friendly on the way in. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Campsite parking is on grass. Watch out for the little stumps/poles separating campsites. They blend in with the grass at certain times. Nice variety of birds. Only stayed one night, but good time.

Beautiful with caveats

The area is beautiful Forrest not far off the highway. We drove well past the initial sites and found a pretty quiet spot with neighbors barely visible. The site nearest was full of trash left behind and processed by wildlife. So sad! The road had some pretty big mud puddles along the way, but were passable. There were some pretty big rigs that made it through. I could hear trains in the distance the whole time through Williams or going to the Grand Canyon. Cell service was good for T-Mobile. Level and spacious sites are easy to find. Beautiful place!

Beautiful and Ugly

We went a lot farther down the road than anyone else that we could see. There are several places to camp pretty close to Blake’s Ranch Rd. But they were full. The farther down the road, the rougher and more rutted it gets. Don’t recommend for larger campers or trailers unless it’s a 4x4 type. We found a huge spot. Obviously someone or multiple people stayed here for quite a while and generated a lot of trash which they left all over. Not cool! There is the faintest hint of traffic noise from I-40. You will probably have to do some leveling on your vehicle.
