Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Norfork Lake

Gamaliel Park includes shaded, spacious sites that welcome pets. This Corps of Engineers campground on Norfork Lake features electric hookups, water access, and clean bathrooms with most campsites offering views of the lake. Pets must remain leashed throughout the camping areas. Other pet-friendly options include Robinson Point and Cranfield Park, both offering water and electric hookups for RVs along with tent sites. Sites at Bidwell Point Park accommodate various camping styles including tents, RVs, and even pet-friendly cabins. Campgrounds maintain clean grounds with designated pet relief areas, though sites can become crowded during summer holidays and weekends.

North Fork Recreation Area provides large, shaded campsites along the river where pets can enjoy the natural environment while remaining leashed. The campsites feature good spacing though without privacy barriers between them. Paved roads and sites accommodate both tents and RVs, with hiking trails accessible directly from the campground where dogs can explore alongside owners. The Blue Spring Trail offers moderately difficult hiking with views of the North Fork River. Patrick Bridge Access offers free camping with river access, though the water isn't considered swim-friendly for children or pets. During summer months, be prepared for higher temperatures and bring sufficient water for pets. Most campgrounds in the area remain open seasonally from April/May through October/November.

Misty Mornings Arkansas Cabins & RV Sites

Peaceful, Clean, Guest Favorite in Norfork, Arkansas

Most peaceful place to stay. You are surrounded by mountains, wildlife, birds, eagles, deer, geese and the confluence of the White & Norfork River is at the end of driveway. Norfork Lake is just a few miles away. Love the Pavilion, fire pit and corn hole!

    Robinson Point

    Clean, well maintained campground

Camped at site #8 in Oct 10-11, 2025. Our site was on a wooded loop, the first camping section on the left after entering the campground. Good spacing between sites. Our campervan fit nicely on the site; level. Shared water faucet between sites 7 & 8. Our site had 20 and 30 amp power. There was a partial view through the trees of Norfork Lake from the backside of the site. Walked down to the bank of the lake to fish and caught a bass. Sites 5, 7 & 8 are really nice on this loop. Campground is clean and well maintained. AT&T and T-Mobile service. I normally do primitive and dispersed camping, but occasionally use established campgrounds, such as this, for replemishing water and power, and to take a shower. I was very pleased with our campsite and the campground. Did some hiking on the campground trails. The person working the entrance gate wad very nice and helpful. I would stay here again.

    Road Runner RV Park

    Nicely spaced and clean campground

We stayed at this campground 1 night on our way between COVID-19 quarantine locations.  We found the park easy to navigate (no tight turns).  Large semi paved spaces (I say semi paved because the concrete pads were crumbling at least in our spot).  Good separation between sites with picnic tables, no shade but they do have a dog park.  Hookups were easy to reach and appeared to be in good repair.  Decent water pressure.  Many of the spaces were permanent campers or long term workers but it felt safe and appeared well maintained.

Denton Ferry RV Park & Cabin Rental

    Hot in summer

This is probably an excellent site in spring or fall. However summertime is hot at the site because of the lack of shade trees. Site 15 is by the water and has a large area for dogs or family. There is a staircase down to the water next to site 8. The fishing is good. It’s a pet friendly site however if your dogs bark neighbors will complain. The manager is friendly. They do not have trash pick up service; you just take your trash to a dumpster at the end of the camp, which is not a big deal. No grill available but has picnic tables and fire ring. WI-FI aid very good.

    Blue Heron Campground

    Some nice amenities, some lacking.

My wife and I camped here for four nights. Overall it was nice, but there were some things that I wish we knew. The location is great in the sense that it’s easy to get to and it’s laid out well. Unfortunately, it’s directly under an overpass and it is loud- loud enough that I used ear plugs at night.

It’s located on the White river and has a very nice gravel boat ramp, which is a big positive. It also has fishing access during low water.

The WiFi is excellent and the staff are super helpful and friendly.

The biggest plus for us is the bathrooms were among the best that we have found. They’re clean and fairly new.

There is plenty of property to walk and they were very pet friendly. It looks like many of the guests are long term residents.
