Spring River Trout Shop/ Mammoth Spring Campground

Mammoth Spring State Park features Spring River Trout Shop/Mammoth Spring Campground, where the Spring River emerges from underground at a consistent 58 degrees year-round. The campground provides full hookups for RVs along with tent sites, accommodating campers arriving by vehicle, boat, or on foot. Multiple access options make this a flexible base for exploring the spring-fed river system.

The constant water temperature creates excellent trout fishing conditions, drawing anglers throughout the seasons. "Spring fed Spring River runs out of the ground at a tad over 50*. Cool in the summer. Great river to float," notes one camper who praised the river access. The adjacent fish hatchery offers educational tours, while a railroad museum sits nearby for visitors interested in local history. Train traffic does pass through the area regularly, creating periodic noise that some campers mention.

Sites include electric, water, and sewer connections with access to restrooms, showers, and a dump station. The campground allows campfires and welcomes pets. Several other camping options exist in the area, including Mammoth Spring RV Park & Cabins and Riverview Cabins and Campground for campers comparing local facilities.

Reservations are available and recommended during peak fishing seasons when the cool spring water attracts the most visitors.
