Sitting right on the rim in Tonto National Forest, this dispersed site gives campers open sightlines from a cliff-edge position that rewards the drive in. High clearance is a genuine requirement, not a suggestion. Sites vary in size along the road, with enough tree cover for shade and hammock use, though the rocky ground makes tent setup difficult. Vehicle camping, vans, and small RVs are a better match here. AT&T cell service has been confirmed. Families with children should note the drop-off is cliff-like along the edge. Promontory Butte West and other campgrounds near Tonto National Forest offer additional options if this road proves too rough.
