Windy, scenic

The Wanapum CG (south of the bridge) is on a plateau over the Columbia River. Most days in the summer, it's terribly windy. Our van was shaking throughout the night! Otherwise it's a beautiful spot with pleasant open sites and some shade.

Nice location and setting

Close to Ketchum, right off the highway. Nice sites. Quiet at night when traffic dies down.

Inexpensive, adequate, nice bonus

A good stop in an area otherwise lacking in campgrounds. Layout of all pull-through sites. Relatively quiet in the second lot in the back of the casino, although we had to change site because of a barking dog in a neighboring house. The bonus is free access to the casino's very nice pool! Showers snd toilets are ok.

Quiet and pleasant

I enjoyed several nights at this beautiful campground located between a creek and the gravel road to a trailhead. Campsites are widely spaced among the pine trees. The bathrooms are clean and there is water throughout. This is the only campground in Great Basin NP that allows drop ins. It's at almost 8,000 ft so nice and cool in the summer.

Beautiful setting, pleasant location

the place is located in a gorgeous setting, although right on Hwy 14. Most sites are well laid out, the restrooms are clean and the staff is nice and helpful. There are a few short trails around the campground.

Wow!

This was an awesome and unexpected find: a private campground in a gorgeous setting where each site is big and well manicured, the bathrooms are beyond luxurious and there are nice touches throughout, including grills (rental) and a charming common area.

Great location, pleasant place

Nicely spread out sites among pine trees. Well maintained. No water except from a tank of drinking water and only one pit toilet. Several trails right from the campground. Only 5 miles from Flagstaff. Car traffic can be heard during the day, but very quiet at night. The campground was closed because of risk of fire, but just reopened after several days of rain.

Beautiful location and nicely set up

This is nicely located: you can walk to Lake Watson and miles of hiking, you can bike to the Peavine trail, but you are far from the city and can't easily walk to a store or restaurant. You can rent kayaks through their b2bwild business. The sites vary widely in size and shade level. Some are very private but many are not. Showers and laundry are clean and nice. Usually full on the weekend and quite busy during the week.

Lots to do around here!

The campground itself is ok. Fairly large sites, lots of trees. No electricity, but water spigots scattered around. Fort Tuthill County Park is huge with an incredible amount of activities: zip lines, adventure courses, equestrian courses, bike and hiking trails, etc. So the place offers a lot but can also get very crowded and loud, particularly on weekends, with generators, loud cars, and human bustle.

Clean but crowded and expensive

Based on previous reviews, I had much higher expectations for this place. It's located in a nicely forested setting, but the layout, at least where my site was located, is weird with huge and tiny sites all jumbled together. Maybe to protect the trees, then it would be ok. We had 20 amp electricity but no water, which was disappointing given how expensive this site was. Laundry and showers were nice and clean and the store carries some very nice items. I also found my site quite noisy, surrounded as we were by roads and rail.

Wide open and peaceful

Up on the foothills, this expansive campground is in a nice, peaceful setting. Exposed to the elements, it was quite windy with no shade the 2 days we stayed there, except for the nice little shelters on each site. Most of the sites are by reservation only but one loop is first-come. Wonderful hike up McGee Creek just 2 miles up the road.

Shady spot by the river

Nice campground located on the river below the dam. Some very shady spots and some not so much. Water available here and there. Quite busy on a Friday night, with generators on most of the evening and lots of motorized traffic. Bathrooms ok and 2 showers in the upper part.

Nice spot by the boat ramp

Nicely done. Each campsite has a tree, shelter, table and firepit. Right now, the trees were blooming so lots of birds and bees. Very nice showers.

Sprawling campground up the Canyon

Sites are off the dusty gravel road, relatively far apart. Some are huge and could accommodate 4 cars and a large camper others are just a small parking along the road. The 2 left when I arrived were very uneven. But the sound of the creek under my window is so relaxing. On this 97 degree day, it was also 10 degrees cooler.

Lovely park-like setting

Well maintained, clean, beautiful spot close to the river. Large campsites with clean table and fire pits. Nice showers. Very green and full of birds. Short river walk. It is close to the highway and can be loud at time. Right now, same rate for residents/non-residents ($26), it doesn't take reservations and will accommodate overflow. Not sure if that's permanent.

Crowded but clean and welcoming

I don't usually stay at rv camps but this was about the only option available and it turned out much better than expected, although very expensive. While rvs were still one on top of each other, the place was immaculate with stylish potters in between sites. There was a big firepit and nice bbqs in the common area. Laundry facilities and showers (very small) were also available.

Dense with few assets

81 rv full hookup sites tightly packed in a small area. Not much shade or privacy.

Tiny but adequate

This small campground has just 2 tent sites and 5 rv sites. We stayed at the biggest of the two tent sites and enjoyed complete privacy and easy access to water, toilet and shower. While the train track is very close and trains are frequent, they do not usually use their horns or break at night, so they are not really a bother, even at night (and I'm a light sleeper). Overall a pleasant experience.
