Cool little place right off the highway. Road keeps going back with more and more areas to disperse camp. If you plan on going deep, definitely recommend a 4x4 as the road gets really rough.
Awesome place nestled in the woods. Tons of open area for dispersed camping. Short drive to town in case you want to grab a bite to eat or forget something.
Probably one of our favorite dispersed spots to date. Roads are nice and had no problem pulling our 22’ trailer in. Spots are right on the water, but can get a little busy so would recommend coming early. Can still find places further down if you can’t. Great Lake for fishing, but not a ton of hiking around.
Not a ton of dispersed camping around here but the spots we found were ok. You’re a short drive or walk to the water where you can boat, fish, hike. Pretty views when you get there. The entrance to the dispersed sites we found are to the left about a half of a mile before you enter the Alamo state park off of Alamo Rd. We were able to pull our 22’ travel trailer in, but it’s kind of a steep climb. Would recommend having a 4x4.
Heavily wooded area with tons of space for dispersed sites. Road is in great shape and easy for our travel trailer to make it in. Camping spots are towards the beginning of the road you turn off of, so don’t drive all the way down to the water like we did lol
First time out here and one of your favorite spots already. Right by the mountains with incredible views and were able to pull our 21’ trailer in with ease. Close to all kinds of hiking and a short drive into town if you need something. There are a ton of spots so keep driving down the road if they’re taken already.
Easy access to the site and close to hiking, the marina, and off roading trails. Have a store on the site which is also very convenient. Spots are small and not much for scenic views, so wouldn’t be my first choice if you’re just looking for a quick camping trip and spending a lot of time at the site.
Nice little spot for a last minute booking. Nice views around the site and awesome hiking right near lake Watson. Spot was tight to back our 21’ trailer into and there was minimal space between our campsite and the surrounding neighbors.
First time dispersed camping with our 21’ pull-behind and had a great experience. Gravel road leading to the area is well kept and our truck had no issues getting to the area. Awesome views when we setup camp with plenty of space.
We stayed here over Labor Day weekend and had a great time. Not much for a scenic view but the amenities are nice and the campground is very clean. Will stay here again.
Awesome views on the campsite. We paid for a premium site which I think is definitely worth it if you’re only staying for a couple days. Right next to the trails that lead up to Mt. Elden. Highly recommend staying here.
