Best Glamping near Cornville, AZ

go-karts, play areas, ‘trampoline’, hiking trails, pets, under the trees, Indoor pool and spa, activities, snack bar, laundry, store. low water pressure for sewer clean out though. right now due to fire restrictions can only use propane for fires, bbq and ground. close to Bearizona, Williams. great for camping and ‘glamping’

This stay was fantastic! The Nordic Village is usually host to snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and nordic getaways, but in the summer time it becomes a quiet host to weddings, cabin stays and a glorious yurt experience. 

After checking in we trekked our 1.4 miles out to the Honey Suckle Yurt. The yurt was equipped with some extra potable water, water to douse your fire, a propane grill, comfy  floor sleeping mats, a couple of chairs, and a wood burning stove. There's even a lighter and a storage box for your food in the yurt because bears do apparently live in the area although nobody seems to have seen them. We literally did not see a single person all afternoon, or up until we saw one lone hiker about 10am the next morning. We cooked our dinner on the stove and sat by a small fire in a cooler evening air and enjoyed just being together in the middle of nowhere. Such a neat spot. Next time I'm going for the yurt with a serious view, the Morning Glory!

Nordic Village is the perfect place to stay after a visit to the Grand Canyon for some solitude. Flagstaff is seeing some snow in mid-November, and the yurt is so warm from the contained fireplace.

Pups can start for an extra $10/night.

The yurt was so cozy and cute! It was pretty cold when we were there, but the fireplace kept it toasty inside. We got some snow our last night there, and we were happy there was someone plowing the parking lot the next morning so we could get out. The coin shower was nice and warm, but make sure you get tokens while someone is around the lodge.

We had previously stayed in a back country yurt in the summer months, this time we decided to stay in a cabin in the front country for NYE. It was quiet, especially considering it was NYE (no wild parties, noisy neighbors, etc) which was nice and what we were hoping for. The cabin is stocked with firewood for the stove, has a small table and two chairs, and a queen sized mattress/pad and a bunk bed with mattress pads. Some of these cabins are renovated, but the one we stayed in was not. Still found it to be comfortable. Note that you do have to bring your own sleeping bag/bedding. The lodge had bathrooms, including showers, flushing toilets, and two sinks. There are pit toilets outside but I went inside to use the bathrooms (they are open 24/7). The lodge opens with staff in the morning and there is free coffee/hot chocolate for those staying/camping at AZ Nordic Village. You can also rent snow shoes or cross country skis here during the day in the winter. I enjoy staying here, both front and back country are great.

This site is well kept and spacious. And the closest site to Water Wheel which is about ten miles away and Arizona’s best kept secret. I usually set up camp the afternoon before and get up early to make the drive to Water Wheel and get in a day hike. This place has extraordinary water falls and swimming holes. I have probably camped at Mesa Houston more than any other place in Arizona just so I can hike Water Wheel and have never had a negative experience. Payson is beautiful and this camp site is near amenities and great hiking spots.

Typically we avoid KOAs because

1. They're expensive
2. They offer no privacy and the sites are cramped However, in November 2020 we were trying to outrun freezing temperatures and snow between Moab, UT and our next destination further south in Arizona. The plan was to get over the pass and closer to Phoenix. But 20 miles north of Flagstaff the snow started falling and we felt most comfortable stopping. We chose an RV park so we could plug in to run heaters and to fill up with water (we were quite low). A couple other RV parks had pretty low reviews so I checked out the KOA website. Surprisingly they were on-par with the lower rate parks price wise and their bathrooms and showers were open even during Covid (the lower rated parks weren't allowing bathroom use). In addition to the flush toilet bathrooms and free, hot showers we used their clean and large laundry facility and the kids played on the playground even though it was freezing. We made a day trip of visiting Grand Canyon to see it blanketed in snow. The sites are close together but since we were inside the entire time and just stopped for 2 days it was fine. Stay here over the others in town... just read the reviews!

The spacious sites at the park were a pleasant surprise, providing ample room for our RV and additional outdoor living space. The park's layout ensured a sense of privacy and tranquility, shielding us from the noise of nearby AZ 260 and offering a peaceful atmosphere.

One highlight of our stay was the modern and clean restrooms and showers. Maintained to a high standard, these facilities were a welcome sight after a long day of travel. The attention to cleanliness and the availability of hot water left us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. It's evident that the management takes pride in providing a comfortable and enjoyable experience for their guests.

Of course, the cherry on top was the great swimming pool that beckoned us to cool off and relax. The pool area was immaculate, with plenty of seating options to soak up the sun or enjoy a refreshing dip. It was the perfect spot to unwind and escape, providing endless fun for both children and adults alike.

In conclusion, Verde Valley RV Park exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of friendly service, spacious sites, modern facilities, and a fantastic swimming pool make it a standout choice for RV enthusiasts passing through the Verde Valley. Whether you're planning ahead or seeking a last-minute retreat, this hidden gem offers a convenient oasis.

What a great find! This spot seemed quite unique in comparison to the surrounding camping areas. The town of Mormon Lake was bustling with 4 wheelers and camper trailers, but this "first-come, first-served" camp ground had an entirely different vibe. Of course, it is 4th of July weekend, but campers here were quiet and respectful, observed quite hours. I arrived early, having taken a Thursday off and snagged campsite #11, what I felt was one of the best spots. Sites 10, 11 and 12 are large, with parking for 2 cars and very spread apart. Not near the dumpster (one site is … why they would do that, I don't know). There is a fresh water spigot right across from the site and the restroom is just a short jaunt away. At the moment there is a strict fire ban, so no late night campfires this time around.

The back of the campsite is walled by trees, ready for exploring. The tiny nearby creek can almost be heard from the site, and to the right there is a small field that the Arizona Trail crosses through. I made use of my time her by hiking both directions of the trail straight from the campground. This time of year I also found an ample butterfly population! The hummingbirds were sociable, and the bugs weren't bad, I made it without bug spray but I came across a mosquito or two. 

Just across the street from Mormon Lake - notorious for never actually having any water - this time it also didn't.So … don't expect much as far attractions at this spot. However, just down the road you can visit Upper Lake Mary and play in the slighter quieter area away from the bustle of the main part of the lake. 

The camp hosts are very friendly, the sites are $20 a night per group for 1 vehicle (up to 8 people) and any additional cars are $8 each. There is no recycling - I packed mine up to take home and recycle.  They are dog friendly and I found it really a great spot to camp with a dog. The toilets are decent-ish, cleaned (really as clean as those standard campground toilet pots can be)  and at the moment there is a sanitizer jug with a squirt top outside, which is helpful. I didn't see the nearby Dairy Springs campground but I would DEFINITELY come back to this one. On Thursday night they didn't fill up but about 2pm on Friday all the sites were full.

Do note: Campsite does not have cell service (and I have Verizon). You can walk out to the camp entrance just at the main road and pick up some service there if needed.

This RV park is in the heart of cottonwood AZ with so much to see and do nearby. Just off the Verde River, there is plenty of shade and when we visited the dirt lot at the entrance was turned into a food truck rally, complete with seating, music, and lawn games.

Awesome little park! Set in the middle of everything just about... a short drive to national monuments, Sedona, Jerome and loads of great local food! The park is managed by an extremely helpful guy named Paul who also gave us a fire pit and free fire wood to help us celebrate our honeymoon! We were in spot 59 which is by the river and secluded somewhat, although it can be tricky getting in and out of! Tons of wildlife plays around the river with humming birds and other beautiful little creatures! One of the best little parks we’ve visited

Its a nice place to camp. We are here a week and so far so good. Downside is there is no doggy park. Enjoying this place and all are friendly.

Basic, but really clean. Xlnt bathrooms. Host is superb. Makes it worth the price which is a little steep. Not much to do at the actual site but good location to get to lots of things and places. You’ll want a vehicle (besides your rig obviously). This is less a ‘hang out at the campsite’ kind of place. We’d come back. Our dog says two paws up.

Pros: polite staff, clean bathrooms, full hook ups, close to Sedona. Cons: right off the highway so you can hear the traffic

My only complaint was that there wasn’t enough lighting throughout the park so it was hard to find the bathroom once it got dark. Otherwise it was a convenient and pleasant stay.

We stayed almost a week here and our spot had a tree with nice shade. Level easy set up, full hookups and a cement pad out our front door. The staff was friendly the bathroom and laundry was spotless. We had a full moon that week and hiked up the hill to their observation deck on hat overlooked cottonwood and had views of Mingus Mountain and Jerome. Easy shot up 89a to Sedona. Great stay!
