Doesn’t take kids

I was told they accepted children and then told my kids were not welcome. Very disappointed.

Quiet and Friendly

There was a small complication about my reservation, which was entirely my mistake and the wonderful camp hosts fixed (thanks, Shane and Vicky!), but I ended up doing a first-come-first-serve campsite search. Midweek in May, I had my pick, and found a wonderful site with tons of room, right at the…

  • The trek to the top wzs worth it, not just because cell and internet live here.
  • The ground sparkles a little. Sit or lie on the dirt and you or your dog will look like you're returning from a rave in the desert, covered in dust and glitter.

Cactus Mountain Vista

The path leads up a mountain away from the city lights of Tuscon. It’s just a short drive away. There’s plenty of spots. Watch out for huge ants! We almost camped on a mound. They won’t bother you however. All in all a good spot. It overlooks Saguaro National Park. You can see the many cacti from…

Clean,small....hot! But big ole carp!

Went 7-6-2020. Campsites are good size. Had power and water hook ups. Virtually no spots have shade. Pop up AC couldn’t drop the temp below mids 80’s. Lake is small. Has a little “beach” area to swim. Water felt great. Fished that night and son caught and released a big ole carp. All in all a…

Well shaded campground near Mt Lemon

Affordable campground for mostly tent and "car camping". Vault toilets we lacking locks. At the time of this writing, the water was not working because the previous years fire melted the water supply line to the camp but the ranger indicated that it was being fixed in the next couple of months. No…

Wake up next to Saguaros

A lot of ATVs, noise, and trash, but the view is pretty fantastic. Park along the road and set up camp, but there are many prickly friends nearby so be careful.

Pretty cool campground

The Triangle T Ranch is a neat experience. It has history and character all around. Even though it's only a quarter mile from the 10, the noise is very minimal.

We showed up while they were hosting a wedding there. We were never greated or shown any hospitality because of that but we're…

Beat the Heat!

The perfect place to beat the Tucson heat! Located in Mount Lemmon, you’ll be nestled under the pine trees. Bird watching in this area is aplenty, as is stargazing. Head to the town of of summerhaven for pizza and cookies at the cookie cabin. Make reservations via recreation.gov

Beautiful Creek Certain Times of the Month

Open only during the late fall, winter, and early spring. Can get crowded. Nearby is the Molino creek which flows only immediately after heavy rainfall or snow.

Great camping on Mt. Lemmon

Lots of places to hike and explore! Higher altitudes make it a great way to get out of the Tucson heat. Easy drive with many campsites.
